1. I think they're great when used in context for a song/show if it enhances the experience. This example, is why they shouldn't be used... https://youtu.be/WZ9pDfkvGAQ
 2. So I'm currently having a clear out, selling off stuff to purchase new stuff and found my old Boss SYB3 bass synthesizer. Made some noises and thought I'd found a few sounds that sounded fairly alright in the mix! https://youtu.be/FIxQKP8NKO4 So I'm curious; what effects have people forgotten about and rediscovered after years of not playing? Not that I'm doing my bank account any good, but I'm interested in knowing what other gems are out there!
 3. I've had both a Freeze & Superego, and I sold the Freeze as I prefer having more control and the connection options that the Superego has. Both do the job regardless, but I guess it depends on budget, board space and if you want the ease or more control of the overall effect. Food for thought; If you like the sounds of the POG series, then check out the HOG2, as that does both POG & Freeze effects in one box.
 4.
Awesome tones on that guitar sound! What would you intend controlling the rig with if rack mounted?
Bought a Voodoo Labs GCX & Ground Control Pro 2nd hand. Gonna give it a spin and if it doesn't work for me, then its no biggy. Gotta try these things innit?
 5. Hi all, Here's the latest version of my bass pedalboard as of the beginning of 2016. It works as a two channel setup, with one channel controlling bass/sub/distortion effects, and the other featuring synths and royal blood tones. I've also done a walkthrough video of the board below. Check it out! P.S. My next project is to rack mount the whole board!
 6. Been a year since I uploaded the first Royal Blood video with fake guitar tone...the video has been seen nearly 70k times which is awesome! Decided to have a go at one more to celebrate, this one being Ten Tonne Skeleton which features heavy use from a Boss PS-6 Harmonist to create a whammy effect. This one is a lot harder to get the tone correct and to make it less articifical sounding but abit of a laugh regardless https://youtu.be/V627aNmhI7w
 7. Hey all, I Really like the idea of the sansamp psa1.1 preamp where you've got analogue control but with preset sounds built in, which makes sense for tones and bass switching on shows. But it seems like there's not many of them on the market anymore or I'm thinking the price isn't right on eBay etc What other preamps/amps have people used that are similar to this design that work just as well?
 8.
As an aside - it's got almost a Cure-like sound to my ears...must be the bass melody line and the layered basses giving it a Fender VI vibe.
Didn't even think of that but you're bang on the money with that! That's definitely the next instrument I'm gonna have to purchase! :-s
 9.
good video i liked the audience particicaption at 2.30 trying to creep in the door on the bottom left, showing the pedal use was nice aswell
Lol yeah should have stuck a sign on the door but there we go!
 10. Needed a tune to try out creating splitscreen videos for my students and thought I'd put this crazy idea down! This started out as a joke with some of my bass students and eventually evolved into a full arrangement which the group performed in their spring concert this year. First time use of Adobe Premiere Elements 13 as well, defintely a big leap from iMovie!
 11. I will switch notifications on, as I never see the build up of replies to videos I post on here. Jammed this one yesterday with drummer this time (no need to program this one!). Still changing the board around (a lot) but nearly there so I will post a video of it finished once I'm happy I've got it right.
http://youtu.be/fuCs6QhXKXI
12.
What's the best pedal/s to get to try and mimic the Royal Blood sound? My band is about to start covering this and I need to get as close to it as I can. Fantastic video pitchard! What pedals are in your rig?
A combination of POG2s, Boss TU2/LS2/PS6,ODB3, Sansamp Bass Driver and ZVex Fat Fuzz Factory and then signals split to different channels. Splitting to the different channels make all the difference.
 13.
That's excellent work! Nice one. Did you programme the drum tracks yourself, or were they availabe wholesale somewhere?
Programmed them myself, using the drum kit sounds from Logic Pro X.
 14. Good to hear people are trying out Royal Blood at gigs. We also play 'Little Monster' in Drop D (as I believe many of us are!) Had a night off and what was going to be a rejig of the pedalboard just became a jam session of various riffs, so I put together a few into the video below. It's a good laugh and definitely worth a go if you're in a small band/one guitarist band to really beef up the mix!
http://youtu.be/I98JevO3AIA
15. Oh no, not another one... This is a student request (I get the feeling I'll be teaching a lot of Royal Blood this term!) For the nerds out there, this features a slightly different pedalboard setup. With the use of my new interface (Allen & Heath QU16) and a feel more leads, I've managed to get bass and a left/right fake guitar sound, much bigger sound now! Video of pedalboard run down at some point soon, it takes longer to explain all that than record the songs I find!
