  2. That looks lovely. I have a fretless SLG from Alan and his work is exemplary
  3. peavey pa system. Peavey XR684F power amp mixer and two Pro 15 passive top speakers. Purchased new by me in 2006 (I think I still have the receipt etc) used as a vocal pa for my band (with backline separate) plenty loud enough for most pubs clubs and small venues not been used for a couple of years but w as pat tested every year when in use. Comes with stands/ speaker speakon to jack leads and the stands etc will even throw in some random XLR and other bits cables I have about Collection can be from me in Leicestershire or my folks are Staffordshire (which is where it is currently in storage) Any questions feel free to ask.
  4. Looks really good Sandberg do some really great basses (sold a longscale California beatsteaks) keep looking at Lionel's glad this has gone from bass direct now although they have a black/tort Lionel pj that's very tempting
  5. Been having a tidy and sort out of my gear but that means I can also have a play with a new setup on the board. Came up with this that I think will work with some extra pedal and switching options. Basics are tuner Big muff in a loop (send/return) so you can blend clean in (makes it useful for bass and cheaper than the ones everyone says work better for low end etc) Chorus and reverb in another loop Octave Looper pedal to try out. Hopefully will get chance to plug it in and give it a good try this week.

  8. I have have owned a few Luither made basses and the quality of Alan's work is outstanding. I'm still getting used to playing a fretless again but I love picking this bass up
  9. I don't need to tell people on here about Alan's work, It's not really a secret that ACG basses are up there with the best but I have realised I haven't mentioned this bass yet. I contacted Alan towards the end of 2022 as I had my 40th approaching in April 2023 and I wanted to treat myself. After far to many emails from myself I settled on a spec that would remind me of some basses I have let go but miss the two most noticeable a fretless sei flamboyant 5string and an Everson fretless 4string. So a plan was hatched build a bass with features I now know suit me the most (passive, Shortscale to name a couple) Full spec. Body core Black Limba Top veneer AI Black ART Maple with black veneer. Back plate Black Limba with black veneer and Set Neck with 5 piece Padauk Wenge woods P/W/P/W/P. Finger board wood AI Mac Ebony with Maple fret lines Radius 30”Side dots Blue Luminlay fretted position. Headstock Black ART Maple with black veneer . Bridge ACG Hipshot 19mm spacing Black Pre-amp Passive Vol/Tone/4 way rotary/3 way toggle switch for any combination. BZ1 bridge pickup PB neck pickup. I have to say Alan was great to deal with the bass is everything I wished for and more (it was even delivered two months earlier than expected) I can fully recommend if you are looking to have a build done. Some of my poor quality photos along with Alan's that show the bass off better.
  10. I didn't think this day would come but I have decided to part with my Guild Starfire I have had a bad couple of months culminating in badly broken ankle so needs must. I am starting to get a bit more mobile now it's been a month since my surgery I would still prefer collection but I'm willing to consider shipping at cost and with the risks fully insured if required. I will still be unable to drive for a while yet so I cannot deliver currently. This is a USA Westerly made Guild from the late 90s not a Newark reissue. These guilds were limited in numbers and I have only seen a handful available for sale. The guild website link states they have gaps in serial number date but Starfire 4 (do not list a Starfire II) in 1996 end at AG000219 and Starfire II start in 1997 at AG300001 so my guess would be late 1996 but I cannot prove this. The bass is in amazing condition just some slight pitting/tarnishing on hardware no dents or big marks just some light scratches and tiny marks (I would say near mint for a 30yesr old bass) most I have seen for sale have damage at the jack socket but not on my bass. It's a semi hollow flame maple body, sides and back with a mahogany/maple/mahogany neck short 30 3/4" scale. Grover tuners, metal saddle bridge and Guild pickups. I will say it's not a light bass but on a wide leather strap is perfectly manageable. Comes with its case one key, hang tag and book. My kettle still works if you want to come try the bass. I'm assuming I have priced this to high so will bring it down to £1900 is the lowest I will go as I would rather keep it it's a really great bass. I would be open to a cheaper short scale bass or medium scale (might consider a Pbass but that would have to be a slim neck) as a part exchange and I would also consider a rick 4001/4003. please get In touch for more details or anything really.
  11. Bass Bros could be an option and it's close to Bass Direct also
  12. Just had James collect a bass off me. Really nice chap very smooth transaction and could have spent most of the day chatting with him even let me try his cab out with my head and another of my basses. Top basschater would recommend 👍
  13. D180 don't see many of them I had a none Eq version at one stage one of those amps I should never have sold.
