  1. No problem! Yep, Swing is the maker. They are South Korean. I've heard they also supply the bodies and such to Bassmods in the US.
  2. 1980 Fender Jazz Bass, black, maple neck with blocks and binding, ash body, USA made, with non-original hardcase. S8 serial number, but dated to roughly 1980 by the pot codes etc. All original electronics and comes with original thumb rest and both original ashtrays (although the ashtray screws are missing). Some scratches and dings as befitting a 42 year old instrument, but still looks great - the finish is really thick! The truss rod, micro-tilt and neck are in good working order, and its currently set up for a low action. There is a ding on the back of the neck near the headstock from when a stand collapsed, but I never notice it when playing. Sounds just like a 70s jazz bass should, with great lows and highs and a real growl to the tone. You can really dial in that Marcus Miller slap sound. Weighs around 5.5kg with both ashtrays on, so it's not the lightest, but these heavier ones always sound the best More info/pics/videos available on request. Collection or courier at buyer's expense.
  3. Great sounding 5 string, upgraded with Bass Mods Rare Earth Neodymium pickups. Tobacco burst with matching headstock and black hardware. A few minor scratches but has only been used for recording so in near mint condition, never gigged. Lots of usable sounds and the tone control works in both passive and active mode. Comes with soft case. Collection or courier at buyer's expense. Roughly 10.5lbs according to my scales (I'll endeavour to get a more accurate reading) * American Alder Body * Spalted Maple Top * Canadian Hard Maple Neck * 2 Carbon fiber rods on the Neck * Maple Fret Board / Gloss * 3 Band Active Preamp / 1V,1 master Tone(stacked),Blend, Treble, Mid, Bass * 34" Scale / 16" Radius * 19mm Spacing * Swing 5 Strings Bridge * Hipshot Licensed HB6 Ultralite Clover Key 1/2 * 2-Ways Trussrod * Black dots Inlay & Black Neck Binding
  4. I'm selling my trusty Ibanez Musician from 1982, in 'DS' - Dark Stain, as Ibanez call it. If you know these, you know how great they sound and they are built to last! For those who don't know, it's a PJ setup with volume/blend/tone when in passive mode, and a 3 band EQ that can be engaged. In terms of condition:- There are dings and scratches as is common on something of this age, but generally it looks good and gets plenty of compliments. - This was my main bass for years, and before that was the house bass in a studio, where it seems they converted it from fretless to fretted (as evidenced by some extra side position markers). - The tuners, preamp, knobs etc are all original, except the active/passive switch was a little noisy, so has been replaced, but I still have the original. - I sold this recently via the ebay global shipping programme. Unfortunately, it subsequently had something dropped on the package while in transit which made a surface level crack in the headstock by the neck. The bass was therefore returned to me and ebay took full responsibility and paid both myself and the buyer in full! It's since been repaired by Jon Shuker and is totally solid (even before the repair it was still completely playable). I've tried to capture it in a photo but it's not that noticeable. Happy for collection or can courier at buyer's expense in a non-original HSC. Trades welcome too..
  5. SBMM 'StingRay5', SUB series, in sunburst with maple neck. This is the latest version, as it has the updated head stock logo. Only owned for two weeks so pretty much good as new, minus the plastic pickguard film! Very powerful tone from the 2 band EQ. Turns out I'm just not much of a 5 string player. Collection from Sheffield, or can ship in the original box.
  6. Scales not working - I'll try to get some - but I consider it pretty light, certainly the lightest I have. No routing
  7. My scales don't seem to be working unfortunately, but I'd guess around 10 / 10.5.. Certainly less than my 12lb '79 jazz 😜
  8. 1982 Ibanez Musician MC924DS Super P and J pickups can be run passive with blend, volume, tone, or with the very powerful active preamp (bass, mid, treble) engaged. If you know these, you know how great they sound. Neck through construction so plenty of tone and sustain. Was my main bass for years and isn't far off 40 years old, so has some dings and scratches etc, but none that affect the functionality. Please check the pictures carefully. Previous owner claimed it was originally a fretless converted to fretted, but I'm not sure I'd have known if they hadn't told me! Otherwise, the only non original components are the preamp toggle and jack socket, which I swapped out as they were crackling a little (originals included though). Can courier at buyer's expense in a non original hard case. Any questions, please ask!
  9. *£975* 2013 Fender FSR American Vintage '75 Jazz Bass, in aged natural. Ash body, maple bound and blocks neck with vintage tint. Includes the ash tray covers and thumb rest, and a non-original hard case. A few small dings and some swirling on the back. Please see pictures (although the natural finish hides them very well!) Great jazz bass tone, and really nice thick P tone on the neck pickup. Can courier at buyer's expense, or collect from Sheffield. 10. Sire M7 5 String in natural ash, version 2. Only about 6 months old, gigged a handful of times. One small ding on the top (pictured), and some very light scratches on the back that I couldn't even get to photograph. Super powerful preamp and loads of switching options. Currently strung with nickel elixirs. Can courier at buyer's expense in original Sire box £400
  11. 2012 Musicman Stingray Classic 5, in retro-burst. Birdseye maple neck with really lovely grain. Weighs around 4.4Kg. Has that funky, punchy, old school 2 band Ray tone Around £2400 new these days... In excellent condition, no dings or chips in the finish anywhere. The odd light scratch but nothing I can really get to show up in pictures. There is a thin layer of clear varnish on the pole pieces to keep them clean (as recommended by EB), and very slight tarnishing where this has come off on a couple of them. I bought this on basschat last year - it came without the mute assembly, but I have since bought and fitted one from someone who was parting out their own Classic 5. Comes in original Musicman case. Can ship anywhere in the UK. More pictures available on request.
  12. Just want to add this a great bass and really does the 70s jazz thing well (I was the one who commissioned it originally, and kinda regret selling it!)
