Total Watts

1. Cats in Space - Scarecrow. Never heard of them, until I saw them as they supported Deep Purple, they were great, so bought the album.
2. Studybass +1. Plus I regularly use LumBeat on youtube - it is a drummer that covers BPM 60 - 200 both straight/shuffle times a bit more interesting than a metronome. I did read through Bass Guitar for Dummies and it will give you the basics - good for scales and understanding grooves eg chord tones etc and had CD too
3. Bought Mick's tanglewater - he even under cut his own asking price, throwing in a hard case for transit - just excellent.
4. Quite fancy this but now a bit confused. Was researching the model and came across this... http://www.thefretboard.co.uk/discussion/78505/peavey-c4-zephyr-bass-sold
5. Is it the only place that sells that book? I never try that hard to give people my money.
6. AC/DC Van Halen Ozzy Osbourne Gary Moore Y&T Accept Mötley Crüe Tommy Vance (DJ) Castle Donington Raceway. Derbyshire .UK. August 18th 1984. The crowd seemed to delight in throwing bottles, cow pats and basically anything to hand at each other and the acts if I remember correctly - still good line up and the weather was good.
7. Tina Weymouth - Talking Heads, Psycho Killer - great example (I think) of how a simple bass line works Not really the period/genre you asked for but i like any of Graham Maby's work (Joe Jackson/ They May Be Giants)
8. I was 17 in 1984 and music from your teens is often engraved in your memory, this was never a favourite of mine, but the girls liked it. Happy memories of slow dances to this.
9. The distant echo of faraway voices boarding faraway trains... Plus fantastic bass line and full of great lines - They smelt of pubs and wormwood scrubs and too many right wing meetings...
10. I still have my 90s P Bass Encore. I love the neck on it and the aren't any sharp edges on the frets, better than my MIM P Bass. I keep meaning to upgrade the PUPS and use It more often, but never seem to get around to doing it. Amazing quality when you consider the entry level price it had.
