1. Hi all, we really hope you can all make it this weekend despite the adverse weather conditions! Obviously it depends where you're coming from, but we're in London now ready for build up tomorrow and it really isn't too bad (drove here from the Midlands). The forecast is for a little snow tomorrow, but getting warmer over the weekend with rain rather than snow. Safe travels, and we can't wait to see you all there! The LBGS Team
2. Nope it doesn't matter whose name is on the ticket! Feel free to transfer
3. Hi Basschatters! Just to let you know that the full line-up and timings for the Main and Masterclass stages are now on the website. We're sorry to see that a few of you are frustrated by the way in which we reveal artists and timings. There are several reasons for this - we're sure you can understand that it is part of our marketing campaign to announce artists one by one rather than in one bunch at the start, but also artists often want to change time slots, artists drop out and are replaced - and we wouldn't want anyone to plan their whole trip around a specific performance only to be told that it's been changed or cancelled closer to the time for reasons that are out of our control. Anyway we hope you're as excited as we are about the show this year - be sure to make use of your 20% off tickets code, we can't wait to see you all there! Best wishes The London Bass Guitar Show team
4. Thank you all so much for coming and for your helpful comments! The team here are chuffed that you all enjoyed it so much. Check out the highlights video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ARkJtckSKSk
5.
just buying the tickets. So the "advance" ticket is £5 cheaper than on the door, but then there is a service charge of £5.96 for me having to print it myself and for them not needing to hire a person behind the counter who would do it for me. Makes sense. Not a rant against LBGS, rather against the whole ticket selling industry, it happens pretty much every time I book anything online. What is that service charge exactly? Just some extra profit that conveniently isn't displayed until later on in the buying process? Anyways, see you guys tomorrow (and Sunday). edit: it also asks me about my date of birth, and it's selectable from a calendar, but dates from the second half of the month are not clickable. So I lied and made myself a couple of weeks older!
The charge for paying online goes to our ticketing agent. If you want to avoid it you can pay over the phone - 01926 339 808 You also don't have to print it out if you have a smartphone you could show it on.
6.
Firstly, welcome... Generally you have to queue for tickets to the masterclasses (about an hour before), then queue again to get into the actual class. You can meet the celebs - last year Mark King was at the Status and Rotosound stands afterwards. Loads of the celebs walk around - I bumped into Nate Watts the previous year and Doug Wimbish last year. Both very pleasant and prepared to stop and chat. I think most of the celebs are TBH - the event is quite low key so they're happy to mix and forget about egos. You'll enjoy it.
Just to clarify - you don't need tickets at all for the masterclasses, only for the main stage performances. The main stage tickets are the ones you queue up for an hour before each performance, or they can be purchased for £5 at any point throughout the weekend if you want to guarantee a place - or avoid the queue! We will be announcing meet and greets throughout the weekend so keep an eye on your emails and listen out for announcements! Looking forward to seeing you all there The LBGS Team
7.
Famous or fat?
famous!!! So we have three AWESOME announcements to make in three days - this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Keep an eye out on Facebook, Twitter and our website, and in the next issue of Bass Guitar mag which comes out at the weekend. Not too long now - we can't wait to see you all there! The LBGS team
8. Hi all Legendary virtuoso Michael Manring and Status Quo's Rhino are both set to perform at the show next year! We also have another artist announcement coming your way before Christmas, as well as a HUGE one in the new year. Hope to see you all there! The LBGS team
9. Very exciting news - Lee Rocker returns to the show in March! http://www.londonbassguitarshow.com/news-2/lee-rocker-returns-to-lbgs/
10. Billy Sheehan has just been announced! He'll be giving a masterclass on both the Saturday and the Sunday. Times and more details will follow shortly...
11. Dear Basschatters, Thanks for all your feedback on the show thus far - keep it coming! Yes, we're aware that the number of exhibitors at last year's show wasn't what we'd have wanted it to be. As some of you have insightfully pointed out, this was due to another show being staged at the same time. We were aware of the clash of dates a few months out but, unfortunately, there was nothing either party could do. The two shows running at the same time meant that many companies did not have the resources to attend both and, to be perfectly honest, both shows suffered as a result. For 2015, however, there are no other shows planned for 'our' weekend and so we are doing our best to ensure that we have a full exhibition hall, rammed with a wide variety of product for you all to drool over. Of course, to a large extent, we are governed by what the exhibitors choose to exhibit too - which is why lefty instruments are always scarce. Maybe we should talk about a new show; The UK Lefty Guitar & Bass Show?! Any takers?! Just a note about the noisy/quiet time too. Trying to keep people from playing during the quiet times is like trying to nail jelly to a tree. As organisers we have dedicated 'sound police' who are constantly on patrol, exhibitors have a responsibility too to monitor what's happening on their stand, but you guys also need to play your part! When you hear the hooter, step away from the basses!
12. Dear Basschat members, Reading through this thread it would appear that there is some confusion regarding the main stage £5 tickets that are available in advance. Just to clarify, in response to feedback we received from show visitors, the £5 tickets are available in an effort to offer guaranteed seats for those that are keen to see a specific artist. We have a total of just short of 500 seats available to us in the main stage and, unlike the masterclass room, the venue insist that we only allow in one person per seat. We therefore allocate up to 250 tickets which can be purchased in advance. The remaining tickets (along with any that remain unsold from the '£5 allocation') are given away free of charge on a 'first come, first served' basis one hour before the performance. You'll be aware that Mark King is performing at next year's London Bass Guitar Show. The last time Mark performed at the show we as organisers received complaints from many disappointed show visitors who were unable to get in, many commenting that they would have liked the opportunity to secure a seat in advance. Hence the new arrangement. Please be aware, however, that it is therefore not a requirement that show visitors purchase a ticket in advance for any of the main stage performances. There will be a minimum of 50% of the available tickets given away free of charge at the show. But for those that absolutely 'have' to see a particular performance we recommend purchasing an advance ticket to avoid any disappointment. Hope that helps to clarify the main stage ticket situation, Best wishes, The LBGS Team
