Total Watts

1. Hi folks, I have some oak & mahogany templates made up for building myself a bass and my uncle a guitar. Then maybe kick off a little hobby itch I have to start Edwards Guitars Ltd - but we'll see how this goes first. I have decided I would very much like to build a Musicman style bass, with a Sterling style body shape to keep weight down and make the whole bass a little more compact and comfortable to play and handle. Only problem is I'm struggling for templates and to get the base shape onto the actual wood. I was hoping someone could help me out with a headstock shape and the body shape templates, I'll be updating this thread as I go. Cheers guys!
2. Taken from GAK: Ampeg Micro-CL Stack 100 Watts Let’s face it. You are the type who would happily crank up a full Ampeg SVT stack in your living room. Heck, who needs neighbors anyway? And noise violations are really just a badge of honor, right? For the rest of us, there is the Ampeg Micro-CL Stack, delivering 100 watts of pure Ampeg tone. It’s perfect for those just getting into Ampeg or for the seasoned bassist looking to practice in far flung locations like the master bathroom. Ampeg Micro-CL Stack 100 Watts Features: HEAD Power output: 100 watts @ 8 ohms Preamp: Solid-state Power amp: Solid-state Tone controls: Bass, mid, treble Unbalanced line out FX loop Dual inputs (0dB & -15dB) 1/8" headphone out / line in Dimensions ( H x W x D inches): 7 x 12.2 x 10 Handling weight: 13.8 lbs CABINET 100 watts power handling @ 8 ohms 2 x 10" LF drivers Frequency response: 57 Hz – 5 kHz Sensitivity: 100 dB SPL @ 1w/1m Dimensions ( H x W x D inches): 13 x 24 x 11 Handling weight: 33.2 lbs Great little rig for the average small venue. Only around a year old and only had home use. Collection from Burton on Trent Staffordshire
3. Looking to have LED's put in my ray, one question, does it require the fretboard to be removed? The bass I want the LED's put into has a lacquered neck, with the fretboard also laquered at the join, would this be possible?
4. Hi folks, got an itch for LED's and whether to have them installed into my Stingray, but also dealing with terrible GAS for a USA Sterling too atm. Im interested to see if LED's would benefit and what they would look like in MM basses...has anyone got an example they can share with me?
5. Im listing this as a feeler, its my main bass and my pride and joy, but I'm rather intrigued to try out more Musicman basses and find one maybe more suited to me. In terms of trades I'm only willing to consider Ernie Ball Musicman basses, preferably something rather unique & limited edition or custom. These basses are top of the Stingray chain so it will have to be something special to sway me to part with this. Preferable trades would be single humbucker configuration & 4 String only not interested in anything with a maple fingerboard. Im very interested in: All Stealth Models 2006 Ltd edition Black (matching headstock & gold hardware) Dargie delight 25th Anniversary Game changer 2x MusicMan USA Sterlings (no Ray 34's or cheapies) MusicMan Basses with LED's/fibre optics pm me and ill see whats on offer presently has my custom logo decals on but these will be removed before the trade. so heres the spec: Model: Gilded White Stingray Description: The first ever active and passive Stingrays offered by Music Man! 8. Rare to come across in the UK! I bought this not too long back from Bass Direct. Literally about 2 months ago maybe? Still brand new, with the box and in full working order. I purchased this thinking I'd use it more than I do, (then I realised how great my Sansamp bass driver is). It has sticky Velcro on the back to sit on a pedalboard but this is easily removed. Anyway the B3K is an absolute powerhouse of a pedal. Very crisp overdriven tones without compensating on the low end. Taken from Bass Direct: The B3K delivers an immense amount of sounds, from warm, clear, and punchy tube-like Overdrives, to devastating Raging Bass Distortions, all without losing a gram of low end or definition! Doesn’t matter if you play pop, rock or metal. This is the Bass Distortion you’ve been always waiting for. “This is an elegantly designed and pleasingly small pedal with a big overdrive sound, interesting parameters, and the essential blend knob. Highly recommended.” -Justin Meldal-Johnsen, Nine Inch Nails/Beck “I’m completely blown away with the B3K. For such a small pedal with 3 knobs, it produces a ridiculously massive sound! It has been a great tool for me to have in the studio, there is such a variety of tones you can achieve with it. Even when you drive it hard, the low end is still amazingly clear, which is exactly what I need!” -Romesh Dodangoda, Producer for Motorhead, Funeral For A Friend, Lostprophets, Kids In Glass Houses, The Blackout, among many others! Useful tip: •If you want to get Fuzzy tones out of the Microtubes, you can do so by rolling down the tone control of your bass, if it´s passive, or treble if it has an active preamp, and set the Grunt switch to Fat mode, this will provide some mean , hysteric, woolly tones! Features: •Level: Controls the level of the Overdriven Signal. •Blend: Allows to mix exactly how much clean signal you want to mix with the Overdriven. •Drive: Sets the amount of gain for this pedal. •Grunt Switch: Choose between 3 different Bass boost levels before the gain stages. This interacts with the Drive knob, so you can choose how much of bass you want to saturate •Attack Switch: This switch features the same “Ultra Hi” option in most tube bass amps. And it allows you to choose how much treble content you want to saturate. The Boost setting gives more clarity, presence and definition. The Off option will round up your sound, making it a bit warmer and less sharp. •For ecological reasons, non of our products will ever again include battery snaps! The B3K can be powered with a regulated 9V power supply (center negative). You can also experiment with 12V power supply for extra headroom.
9. Rare to come across in the UK it seems! Sam Bettley of Asking Alexandria released a signature bass with Schecter last year, it's the first Schecter I've seen to sport a Seymour Duncan MM pickup, and boy does this thing not only look awesome, it roars. Don't be mistaken, it may be a signature bass but this thing thunders. It hasn't got all the regular bumph you get with artist basses with names and logos everywhere, so it's not too recognisable as a signature bass apart from the specs & Sams signature on the headstock. So here's the spec taken from Schecter: Guitar Colours: Satin Black w/Red Wood Grain (SBK/RED) Dexterity: Right Handed Country of Origin: South Korea Construction: 6 Bolt-on Body Material: Swamp Ash Top Contour: Flat Top Binding: Red 1-ply Neck Material: Maple Fretboard Material: Ebony Inlays: Red 'Pence' Scale: 34” (863mm) Frets: 22 Narrow X-Jumbo Fretboard Radius: 12” (305mm) Neck Shape: ‘C’ Thickness: @ 1st Fret- .826” (21mm)/ @ 12th Fret- .905” (23mm) Nut Width: 1.653” (42mm) Nut: Graph Tech XL Black Tusq Truss Rod: 2-Way Adjustable Rod w/ 5/32” (4mm) Allen Nut Bridge Pickup: Seymour Duncan MM SMB-4D Controls: Volume/ Active Seymour Duncan 2-Band 'STC-2S-B0' EQ Battery Compartment: 9-volt Clip-in Battery Compartment Hardware Color: Black Bridge: Schecter Custom Bass String Thru (or Top Load) Tuners: Grover Bass 144 Series Knobs: Metal Knurled w/ Set Screw Strings:Ernie Ball 4 String Super Long #2849 (.045-.105) This really is an awesome bass, nice low action and plays beautifully, the ebony board just makes playing the nice slim satin neck addictive. The electronics really do bring out that proper growl and low end you find in a lot of Stingray basses, but I've also played melodic solo's on this and it just sings, right amount of treble control and right amount of bass. Simple. Unfortunately however financial situations change and needs amust. This bass in brand new condition apart from a slight dint on the top of the headstock (pictured) which is not at all noticeable on the nice satin finish. And a slight indentation on the body underneath. I am only open to trade for a Musicman Sterling Bass. Cheers!
10. Hi folks, Needing some work done to one of my basses and was wondering if anyone can recommend me a luthier in or near Derby? Thanks in advance
