Total Watts

  1. Saw them a few years ago and that bass of his sounded phenominal. I had the ES-335 and can agree that it is a superb bass.
  2. What a cool looking thing that is - great pics. The epitome of the short scale bass! That will be snapped up!
  3. I've not done any in-depth research on this but those Retro MMs make the Fender AV2 basses look positively bargain basement territory. I would imagine the only difference is probably quality of build compared to Fenders iffy QA processes. But essentially basses like the AV2 Jazz 66 vs Retro MM is same difference.
  4. I'd be in the market for another Serek like this, but sadly Brexit means I'd have to pay an extra wedge on import taxes 😕. GLWS
  5. I’ve had mine 4 years approximately. Never changed the power tubes
  6. They are special amps and loud enough for most needs. I partner mine with the Ampeg Venture 412.
  7. Thanks for the interest, but I am going to hang on to this for now. I am fearing seller's remorse 😕
  8. Cab is now sold. Selling the amp for £750 Come with the Roqsolid cover.
  9. I had the Jazz Original 60s and they are outstanding basses. Only changed as I couldn't resist the new '66 American Vintage after one of my bass heroes, Klaus Flouride. GLWS
  10. Surprised this is still here at that price. I have a similar looking Spoiler. They are amazing basses. GLWS
  11. I've had many very good non-Fender basses like Serek, Rics, Stringrays and my latest purchase being the AVII JB 66. I always feel at home with a USA fender, which just has that fit and feel that I can instantly bond with. Yes, there are some USA made lemons out there but when you get a decent one they just dial in that tone whatever amp you twin with. I have a had a Japan Jazz model and a Mexican P bass and found they never quite had that finish and sound of an American Fender. The new crop of AVIIs are so exciting and shows they are listening to customers. The AV 54 P, Telecaster Deluxes, Telecaster Customer, Thinlines...all the old classics made pretty much to original specs. Yes, prices are ridiculous but these price increases cut across all brands
