1.
ha ha! no, Howards reply to that. something like "the serebral musicality of jazz, mixed with the visceral groove of funk" (forgive the guessed words, and the obviously guessed spellings of said words)
As for me, you nailed it wotnwhy. What a solid definition of Jazz/funk fusion. I'll need to write it down. My memory often fails me.
2. Solid, in the groove, good foundation, like a rock, all would fine by me. Of course that is my goal. If your goal was to impress in other ways, then compliment - not so much.
3. Both versions spoke to me. They both elevated my mood. The musicians put the song first, playing as one tight unit, sans any private contractors.
4. Funk Repulic radio. Johnny Guitar Watson "A Real Motha Fo Ya".
5. Thanks Mykesbass. I love the subtle energy it exudes. I'm adding it to my warm up exercises.
6. Thanks for all of the welcomes guys, it helps me to feel compfortable like one of the gang.
7. Norris I agree with Highfox and Delberthot. Mine has been with me for 8 months, and I have nothing but praise to offer up on her behalf. I bought the combo 210. Since then I've added an additional rumble 210 cab to the mix. I have created a monster, a glorious sound monster.
8. I'm a Bass rookie at 60 years of age. Excited to engage with another group of Bass enthusiest. I have soo much to learn, and unfortunately little time to do so. I'll be content taking this bass ride as long as it lasts. I've been practicing for just about a year. My progress has been satisfactory according to my instructor. Gear wise I started with an entry level Yamaha 170 played thru a 35 watt Ibanez Sound Wave amp, that I played for approx. 7 months. I remain in posession of the Sound Wave. The Yamaha was traded in for an up grade. I chose an ESP LTD B-4E. It was a good choice bcause she is a joy to play. I also upgraded my amp with the acquisition of a Fender Rumble 500v3 combo amp. It is also a dream to play thru. I 'm drawn to playing jazz/funk fusion, rock, and pop music. I'm looking forward to absorbing as much Knowledge as possible from my brothers and sisters accross the pond.
