The guy doesn't know what the switch does, says it affects the entire frequency spectrum but it's a 3 way mid switch. Interestingly configurable between two presets so 6 to pick from in total. Although they look great I don't like the marketing stuff (especially when he gets other details wrong) about how the body shape was designed from the ground up, it's a tweaked Cort GB and even nicks the scratchplate from that bass.

Might be worth getting a magnetic Micro USB adapter with cable to get around using Micro USB port on these, I have a couple of legacy devices I've been using the round style with and they work great. Only about £3 on AliExpress as well.

I have a Crimson Guitars notched bass version, not cheap but will do pretty much every bass scale length and is all you'll ever need. Annoyingly I had to round off one of the top corners (near the hanging loop) as it was fouled by the wood behind the nut on my 35" bass: https://www.crimsonguitars.com/products/notched-straight-edge-for-bass You can also make your own notched straight edge out of a regular one or a steel ruler

Think they're referring to the poster still waiting for some sort of vaguely bass-shaped object from Jon Letts. Hopefully he's written this off as a learning experience and moved on. Letts appears to be skint, wholly untrustworthy and generally a bit useless based on what we've heard here, I'd have bought myself a different bass and tried to forget about it.

Got 4 sets on the way, thanks! Been using these exact strings on my backup bass for a while now so should keep me going for a while.

The Joyo BA-30 might be a better bet for desk use?

I have the BG-75 (the older one with DC input), they're for home practice and playing along with acoustic guitars really so may be perfect for your acoustic circle, especially given the BG-80 can be powered by a decent power bank. They sound great in this application and although I own some very nice small rigs the PJB is my favourite, they get a full sound due to the passive radiator design (that's the "something clever" bit you wondered about!) so need to be placed in front of a solid object, they don't sound half as good in the middle of a room and the low end drops out. You're going to be disappointed if you expect anything more from them tbh, very useful little things and they do sound brilliant if your requirements match their capability. They can also be a gateway drug into further PJB purchases so you have been warned.
