Total Watts

  1. So, some background, I've been playing guitar for 30 odd yrs and transitioned to Bass just recently, I'm really green when it comes to Bass stuff, anyway, the difference between a ported cab and non ported cab is like night and day (at least to me) I'm old school, I like vintage tones and to my ears this is pretty close, as much as I'd love a SVT/810 I'm too old and can't afford a Roadie, so my Ashdown rig is it for me, cheers \m/
  2. This is it (for me anyway)
  3. If it sounds good to you, then it's good, I just put my 15 under my 410, and was surprised by the extra bottom end (I know the TB guys are gonna cringe) I'm gonna leave a couple days and see what happens \m/
  4. New cab, I'm done http://s1043.photobucket.com/user/elsicodelico/media/image_zpsmkp4bzj3.jpeg.html
  5. So after playing with the LB for a few hrs I'm so happy I got this, it's near new, the guy that sold it to me used it to record an EP and used it for 1 live gig but unfortunately the LB didn't cut it live, even through an 810 trying to compete with 2 guitarists. I'll use it for myself and occasional jam with a drummer, it'll be fine. Now if someone wanting this or the CTM15 you'll be happy with either one, the LB does sound nicer, more organic, but it does have the full tube preamp and the 2 extra power tubes I tried to dial in the same sound between the 2 amps but the CTM15 is a little harsher, not really bad, but you can hear the solid state front end (they may have used the solid state front end from the BTA series) I originally bought the CTM15 thinking it was full valve, when I auditioned it I liked it enough to buy it, the distributor in Oz had a 50% off sale so it was hard not to buy it. It was only when I started research and found the threads on it and the LB, when the LB come up for sale I had to get it out of morbid curiosity, look I think that anyone who has an LB won't part with it, (I know I won't be) but if the CTM15 is readily available, it's still a nice option if you get it at the right price, this is just my humble opinion, hope this helps
  6. So now I have this and the CTM15, will will find out how much difference having the full tube preamp makes http://s1043.photobucket.com/user/elsicodelico/media/image_zpsztfuxttn.jpeg.html
  7. I have the CTM15 no hum or issues, I'm hoping to have a LB 30 later in the week which does have 2 preamp tubes gonna be interesting how they compare side by side
  8. Thanks all, this rig will be set up in my man cave, I won't be gigging, may jam with a drummer occasionally
  9. For those guys or gals who've used both, which do you prefer?
  10. Hi all, new to the forum, picked this up on the weekend 50% off Ashdown products in Sydney, I have 1x15 cab coming as well just on the wrong side of $800 all up
