1. Best value dedicated stage monitor around for £400 is the Turbosound TFX112M-AN Active, built in feedback control. Can be used as a FOH speaker if needed.... and has a 10 year warranty.
2. Yes the Pre's are different in the Behringer units... There's the designed by Midas pre's and the Midas pre's they use in the M series... TBH you wouldn't notice it on the MR18.....
3. Re the MR18.... there are better pre's in the Midas version to the Behri.... plus you now get a 10 year warranty on Midas products. Behri dropped prices earlier in the month accross most of their CREA range so there is a bigger price difference now. The BV amps are actually designs taken from the TC RH range.... obviously not the same specs but the tech is from TC. ;o)
4. I'm still waiting to put together my disco/funk band Ars e Wind & Fire
5. If you have the budget... get one of these. Plays regular compact cassettes to digital output. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Philips-900-Series-Digital-Compact-Cassette-Recorder-DCC-900/182916311557?hash=item2a96a96a05:g:uKAAAOSwiBJaFFPn
6. You can also use the Midi function to link a physical control surface if you want such as the X-Touch. Obviously that increases the cost though
7.
...assuming one has the budget for such things.
Not expensive these days though
8.
It seems stupid, when the cost of a better router is insignificant compared with what it costs to build the mixer in the first place. That's Behringer for you. And why would you want to test with a set up you aren't going to use live? If the inbuilt router is so rubbish then it would make more sense to replace it with a RJ45 socket and for users to supply their own. That way Behringer could save even more money. Although IMO RJ45 connectors and Cat5 cables on the whole aren't sufficiently gig proof either.
Actually the issues generally arise because of placement by the users and other wi-fi frequencies . a lot of bands tend to place the box at the back of the stage which is usually cluttered with cabs, cables and other stuff.... place in line of sight as you would with most RF equipment and you will have much better results.
9.
That Midas looks identical to the behringer!!!!
It is apart from the Pre-amps, busses .... and the 10 year warranty
10. Have a look at the Midas MR18 or MR12 if you dont want bells and whistles.... very similar to the Behringer model (has better pre's) but has a 10 year warranty
11.
2x 16 Ohm loads create an 8 Ohm load. 2x 8 Ohm loads create a 4 Ohm load. Etc. You can't mix 'n' match cab impedance loads, ie, a 16 Ohm cab and a 8 Ohm cab together.
Not strictly true... you can but you get missmatched loads
12. Thought that Jessie Ware was her usual outstanding self last week..... https://youtu.be/b3kTN4Sde1w
13. Websites are becoming secondary for our use though we are still using it for our ticket sales mostly. Social Media is the best platform we find though you have to invest a fair bit of time into getting it right. 14. I've used the Voice Live which does a stirling job..... as with any unit that changes the original signal, its in how you set it that gets the best from the unit. http://www.tc-helicon.com/en/products/voicelive-touch-2/
