  1. THanks FinnDave. @markstuk - not necessarily but in all honesty would prefer new. May just have to save extra for the American.
  2. Yep a Fender i'm looking at. Weighing up the usual pro's and con's to Mex vs US. Was looking at the Mex Deluxe but then played the Elite but another 1k extra.
  3. I play in a 90's britpop band so indie/rock sound all the way 4 string. Currently have a 4 string 90's Fender Mexican Jazz and a Musicman Stingray going through an Ashdown ABM 500 amp and Barefaced cab. Looking for a gigging bass.
  4. Got around 1k to spend on a bass - anyone got any recommendations ? - tried the Fender Mexican Standard but any thought s of a goodish bass for around this price? Thanks in advance.
  5. Thanks just difficult to try a Deluxe - have tried the Elite in the local store but they would have to get a Deluxe in for me to try. Have tried a standard Mexican is there much of a step up with the Deluxe?
  6. Hi, Just wanted to know if anyone has any experience playing the new 2017 Fender Mexican Deluxe Jazz and what their thoughts are on it in comparison to say a standard mexican and the more expensive American Elite. I tried a standard Mex and thought it was a beaut but have seen these Deluxe versions online (MIM) but havent got a chance to try and test one out. Tested an Elite today and was impressed. Does the Mexican Deluxe slot in the middle in terms of build quality/tone etc and do you think the extra £900 to go from Deluxe (£1093) to Elite (£1900) is necessarily worth it ? Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks
  7. Hi, just reopening this topic. I recently bought a second hand EVO II (uk manufactured) and the VU Meter bulb flickers on and off all the time. Nothing wrong with the output from the amp at all, but the flickering light is annoying. I've tried as others have suggested, removing the 4x screws from the front plastic in front of the vu meter, but they are firmly in place and just turning - 1x of the philips screws is badly worn so I am assuming the previous owner/s had already tried at some stage. Is there another way I can access the vu meter maybe from the back? My amp is one of these ones that fits into a Gator case, so has a chrome front. If anyone can help or provide any suggestions I would be very grateful? Thanks in advance.
