    AI combos only ever any use for low volume situations as the cabs just don’t project, but the heads are the finest ever made (and they’re not made any more so likely to become highly sought after. Keep the Acoustic image head and use a different cab. I use a 1x12 Eich cab which is stupidly light and very loud and sounds amazing. I believe they also do a 10’’ speaker if you’re looking for ultra portable. You and the audience will then both be able to hear your bass. No need for any monitoring…

    Selling my 2021 American Ultra. Bass is in very good condition, has a couple of very small marks. One on headstock, one light scratch where the bass sits on your leg (couldn’t get a photograph of it) couple of marks on the scratch plate from being played. Has a great vintage tone and got that precision thump when panned to the neck pickup. The bridge pickup sounds very vintage jazz bass. Works really well as either a passive or an active bass. In passive mode it has a low pass filter. As an active bass has a 3 band boost/cut eq for tone shaping. Has a light flame in the maple of the neck to give it a bit more class! Includes the case and all the original case candy. Case is immaculate. Lovely bass, only selling as I have a number of basses that do a similar job and want to create a bit more elbow room in my studio!!     Hi Where/ how often/ what sort of venues do you gig at? I’m not close geographically but often gig with outfits where I’m reading their charts or learning stuff with tricky arrangements having not met all of the band before the gig.

    It’s a 2007 bass. The first 2 digits of Mo’s serial numbers are the year of manufacture, the third digit is the number of the bass made in that year, so this is the 4th bass he made in 2007.

    I use a TC electronics BG250 208 as a small drummerless gig highly portable combo. I also sit down fairly low when playing so can use it as a stool… works well for EUB and double bass gigs. Also for electric bass gigs but sometimes put some sort of pre amp in front of it if I want a less ‘pure’ tone for electric bass. For anything a little louder, up to stupidly loud, I use one of my acoustic image heads, but they have recently ceased manufacturing as the founder Rick Jones tragically died recently. Best sounding DB amps I have ever played, and I’ve tried most of those mentioned in the thread. Worth looking out for one second hand if you can find one. I used to use some cabs I made myself that were like a handmade individually tuned version of the EA wizzy cab (I tuned them side by side with a wizzy until it sounded better than the wizzy). However I recently got really obsessed by weight and now use an Eich 12’’ cab which is stupidly light and rated at about 400w so don’t need to worry about turning up the acoustic image head. Just use 2 of these cabs for very loud gigs. Looked into the PJB stuff. Really couldn’t see the point. The smaller stuff was too quiet to use on even some drummerless gigs. The more powerful stuff is pretty compact but massively heavy compared to the alternatives so ruled all their gear out on weight grounds as I’m well past the stage of carrying heavy gear about for no good reason!

    How does the Felix compare to using a twin channel clarus that would appear to have a lot of the same features built into the preamp stage of the amp?
