  1. Seconded - great looking bass. Congrats on the purchase. I've got a Sandberg and adore it.
  2. I have exactly the same issue, did you order a replacement? Cheers.
  3. I've fairly recently purchased what (to me, at least) is my first really nice bass - a Sandberg TT4. My somewhat obsessive nature coupled with how much I'm loving the instrument has got me thinking about how and where I keep it. I basically have two options: 1. In a garden office I have. The building is insulated and has heating but we only use the heating when the building is in use so it will definitely be getting cold in there at night etc. I.e. environment where temperature probably fluctuates a fair bit. 2. Upstairs at home - with me and the wife taking showers in the morning and the kids having a bath in the evening. I.e. environment where probably humidity fluctuates a fair bit. Imagine it's all a question of fact and degree, but out of interest just wondered if there was any thoughts about this.
  4. Each to their own of course but it doesn't all work together for me. I think the silvery pickups are the offending element (or are those in the pic some sort of blank because you can spec it with various different types?).
  5. Saw a video of lowendlobster saying the gotoh GB528 tuners are a lightweight drop in replacement for sires which doesn't require any drilling. Considering them for my P5.
  6. Thanks all. Loving it more and more.
  7. Can't believe I've done this. I've been playing for 25 years or so (with a gap of a few years in the middle) but I'm no more than an enthusiastic amateur. My main 'gig' is in the band of my church. Always said that one day I'd love to get a really nice bass, and that day has arrived. Sold my previous pride and joy (motorbike) and have put some of the funds to work on this. Just had delivery of this beautiful Sandberg California TT4 in aged rochfort blue. Just getting to know it a bit, but overjoyed with first impressions on noodling about with it! I love the attention to detail which has clearly gone into the aged finishing.
  8. Thanks for the suggestions. I tried swapping polarity, checking connections and wire routing and generally inspecting the original speakers as best i could, but ultimately couldn't get them to sound right. I've put the Fane speakers back in. They do sound good so ultimately I at least have a functioning combo. Unfortunately it's still at 4 ohms so I can't extend from there. In future I'll probably look to source 2x 16ohm speakers to use. Or just stop fiddling around and buy something else completely.
  9. I seem to have managed to bugger up putting the original speakers back in. They sound fine on higher notes but there sounds like there is a sort of buzz on the lower notes. I thought it might be that I hadn't tightened them enough and the speakers themselves were vibrating but tightened it further and not improved. Upset with myself as I should have left it alone...
  10. OK, suck and blow - got it. Thanks for the advice, will give it a go.
  11. Thanks for looking mate. Just to check... if I did connect them the wrong way around would it just not work? Or would it cause very bad things to happen? If the former I can just give it a whirl and work it out, but just acutely aware of my lack of knowledge in case the latter applies!
  12. Slightly randomly ressurecting this thread years later as I bought the bg208 modified with the Fane speakers and now want to put original ones back in so I can use an extension cab. Does anyone know Where the yellow and green wires from the extension socket need to be connected to? I can't see the originals pics which were in Grandads post above (and I've no previous experience of this sort of thing at all). I guess it must be the lower speaker but don't know which way around to connect them. I could do some trial and error but worried it might cause damage (?) if I do it the wrong way around, so thought I'd ask and see.... Thanks.
