1. My favorite bass is my '57 Reissue Precision with a Geddy Lee neck. Plays amazing. Here it is sitting right next to Duck's '66 precision with Jazz neck: [Img]http://i.imgur.com/pNrgzuE.jpg" class="ipsImage" />
 2.
What's the story behind them all?
Duck's basses are with his family. Duck's son is producing the demo CD and is overseeing the progress on my book about Duck. The '56 was found by the drummer in New York years ago at a pawn shop for a steal...something like $3k about 20 years ago. My '57 RI (previous typo) was built about a year and a half ago. I got the neck on eBay and the body, electronics, and pick guard from The Stratosphere. It's an amazing player, and is a tough decision between it and my stock Geddy. The Squier Affinity was picked up in a pawn shop for $100 in like new condition. I put the tort pick guard, bridge/pickup covers, pull bar, flats, string mute, and Quarter Pounders on it, and added a nitro finish to the neck. I call it my "Igor" or "Motown" bass.
Who's custodian of Duck's '59 these days?

Bopeuph is! That is THE bass - or so he says.
I wish! That bass is worth more than my life!

 4.
Nice collection. You might get more folk see them if you post in the "porn" threads.
Is it an optical illusion but the dark red Squier on the right seems to have a larger body than the others on the front. Obviously those on the sofa will look smaller due to perspective.
Yeah, it's sitting a little farther forward than the others. I do feel like it feels bigger, but it doesn't when it's sitting right next to another P body.

 6.
I very much doubt you can find a true isolated bassline. A lot of stuff from the 60's were recorded on 3 or 4 track tape. The bass was probably mixed together with the drums and guitars.
Good point. Also, the tracks were mic'ed, rather than direct, and was all recorded "live," if I remember correctly. So, even if there was a bass track, there would be plenty of bleed-through with everyone else, probably resulting in just a poorly mixed version of what you already can hear.
 7.
Hi and welcome. I was in Orlando not long ago and visited BB Kings blues bar and caught the excellent Trae Pierce & T-Stone band. Had a great time. Enjoy the forum.
Too bad you didn't see Drew Williams Band with Dave Lowrey on bass. Dude is our local bass superstar! https://www.facebook.com/empowerfulryan/videos/1258933737474581/
 8. Thanks guys! It's nice to meet fellow bassists from around the world!
 9. I came across this forum just the other day. I'm in Orlando, and play around the state on a regular basis. I'll be popping my head in here now and then.
 10. So, I was doing a random search of Duck the other day and this thread came up. It's right up my alley. I'm currently working on a book on Duck, and it will include lots of transcriptions of his basslines, as well as a short biography. The book is working with a good publisher so it will be available easily very soon...once I finish it. The isolated bass tracks aren't available anywhere. But Duck's lines aren't too terribly difficult to transcribe, either. Either way, I'm working to remedy a situation that shouldn't have been like this for so long! By the way, Mods, if this is against the rules for my first post to talk about my book, I apologize, and feel free to delete.
