1.
I've read the tab in diagonal and not read all posts in this thread but i noticed that on the tab Jaco doesn't go lower than G (3rd fret) on the E string so, if your fretboard is missing a hole tone, to get the note you need you could tune your bass a full step up to F# - B - E - A.
Actually, I've tried this. But when you tune the whole bass a whole step up, it seems that the arm gets a lot of tension, the strings raises a little bit. So, technically the truss rod needed to be adjusted to make it playable and then I'll have a bass for 1 tune. Not saying the tune isn't good enough, but the trade-off is not great... Cheers Eric
 2.
As promised, here is my transcription of the unison line: *Diamond shape note heads indicate artificial harmonics
Dude, you solved the mystery. Thank you very much, now I have a very good reason to work on artificial harmonics. Thank you very much for your time and dedication ;-) Cheers Eric
 3.
Hey Eric Your username looks like an ancient Greek name..
Not the case... but good to know ;-)
 4.
He used an octave divider for some things... probably this.
I was looking for some videos, and most of the Octave/Octave divider effects only creates a lower octave. I'm not sure about this...
 5. Hi all, I'm absolutely new to this forum and just joined because a trade I made with a member (very successful one by the way). I'm an experienced non professional player and more or less play for fun on rock or jazz bands. Recently playing with some jazz jams, bands around Oxford and enjoying a lot. Recently I bumped in a slightly problem with this tune. I've bought a Vintage fretless Jaco Pastorius tribute bass (I don't have that big demand for fretless, despite the jazz gigs) which technically has 20 or 21 frets (or fretlines, I don't have the bass here to confirm). I found this tab here (http://www.bigbasstabs.com/weather_report_bass_tabs/a_remark_you_made.html) which seems more or less accurate and.... unfortunately I ran out of frets to play higher notes. And a whole tone bend at that position of the scale doesn't seem very possible for me. Does anyone has an idea what exactly is used to play this tune? A different tuning or maybe a different bass? Cheers, Eric
 6. Just finished my craziest trade ever with Lee. Sent him a Cort GB Custom and some money up front for a Music Man StingRay 5. Everything worked absolutely well. Definitely the reliable kind of chap you want to make deals with.
