I bought a 2 x 10 cab from Pete, easy transaction, hope to deal with him again
5. Bought some Bass Player magazines from Pete, top guy to deal with and everything went very smoothly
6. One speaker is a Peavey and I think the other is a Celestion Neo, rated in the region of 200-300W each. I could take them out of the cab to check. As long as every speaker is 8 Ohms the load is equally shared between them. The amp is a QSC 1450, not one of QSC's lightweight models, but it sounds good as part of a bass rig
7. As you love the Eden tone, I'd suggest keeping the Navigator preamp. Add a light weight power amp, could be in a separate rack case from the preamp to reduce weight you carry at one time. As Markstuk said, QSC power amps are bulletproof and often have features to protect your speakers, switchable low cut (off/30Hz/50Hz), switchable limiter and bridge/parallel/stereo mode. I'm in Cheshire too and have a couple of 8 Ohm 10" speakers spare and a QSC power amp if you want to test how your rig could sound?
8. M-Audio Audiophile 2496 Audio Card with MIDI. Goes in a PCI slot in a PC or Mac. Comes with instructions, 4 software CDs, box and lead. Full details in link below http://www.m-audio.c...audiophile-2496 Collection from Warrington or postage at cost, around £3-£4
9. In addition to acidbass's suggestion "Hiwatt/Marshall/Fender all valve head would do the trick" consider WEM too. I have a WEM Bass Dominator MK I all valve combo from the early 70's. It has a switch on the front for treble boost and works well with guitar too. It gets rarely used so I'd be happy to sell it. As budget is a consideration and valve stuff is rarely cheap, also consider a none valve preamp from someone like Line 6, which will sound very close to numerous different valve amps, and have downloadable settings available for guitar and bass in their more modern units. You can then feed the signal into a power amp and then a speaker cab suitable for guitar and bass.

13. After thinking about going wireless for many years I have finally bought a G30 via a wanted ad on here. Rehearsed for the 1st time with it today and am very impressed with the sound quality, range and freedom it allows. Looking forward to gigging with it this weekend and being able to check out the sound from the audiences perspective.
