1. Just a case of giving it a rub down (oo'er) every now and again then? I think I'll get one.
2. I was going to get a mirrored one, but I teach on youtube and I dont really want it mirroing back whats on screen etc. May get it for gigging etc though. Does it get mucky at all? Finger prints etc?
3. Hi all Got a clear perspex scratchguard from Ebay for my MM. This means you can have any design beneath it, which gives your Bass a completely different look about it whenever you change. Great for branding, or adding a specific 'feel' to fit with the venue you are playing at. The first guise I've gone for is a Creeper, because I'm a Geek. I painted the image from an image I got from Google, stuck it onto a black piece of card, and painted the rest black to fit. I 'Bloomin love it. So many opportunities, and I can always put the original scratchguard back on if I get bored.
4. I wondered what happened to this. I was fourth on that there list. Fantastic achievment, and its great to see a unique idea come to fruition. Well done!
5. I just love way he plays so melodicaly, but at the same time not sacrificing the low end. Then there is his tone, and the fact he sings as well. Wow. It's always an adventure when I break apart Mcartneys lines to teach. He does a lot of 'odd' stuff alongside Lennons and Harrisons guitar playing that sound weird when played alone, but absolutely benefit the song when it's altogether.
6. Hi guys! Well, we've made it to 100 Bass tuition videos in a row. It's been crazy so far, and I don't think I'm ever going to have to warm up again. Each video has taken about an hour to create, record, edit, upload, annotate etc. It's been a lot more time consuming than I thought. Plus, wrist is beginning to ache a bit! But, I'm going to persevere! Here's the 100 so far. Mnaged to get some blues in, a ton of slap and pop, a few tapping, loads of chord based stuff, rock, indie, funk, punk, jazz and more https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLfUa0P5OjqySfelbHofjZcGfw6SyHN-p1
7. Bloody hell! Long time no see, hello mate!
8. Loads of Kent peeps on here! I'm just down the road from you, Bob
9. Hello, all! Was great meeting the Basschat guys and gals, and getting involved in the rally. Really friendly people. Really good idea, that is being done for a most worthy charity. Here's a video I did of the day, but there will be more going into each brand more in-depth. I tried a lot of Bass guitars that day! The actual Basschat/Rally video will be up tomorrow Oh. and the Bass guitar in the picture with the big hole in? Really odd to play. Not because it feels bad, but because it feels really nice to play, but then you look down and realise its got a big hole in it, lol. Sounded great (although the Bass show is the WORST place to get an idea of sound!) and felt really balanced. I'd recommend anyone at least try one if they get the opportunity... 10. Last year, my guitarist/singer/mate sodded me off to go and join 'The Voice'. He's the one that looked like Gandalf, played guitar, and was mentored by Tom Jones. He's got nothing from it, screwed over his friends, and the media coverage hasn't helped him one bit. I'm lucky.
11. Its weird, because of all the people I've chatted to, most stay away from here because of negative experiences they have had, and move over to Talkbass. Probably a coincidence. It does some to be quite a high ratio of people, though? I don't post here that much, but you seem like a friendly bunch.
12. Don't think I've posted this here. Can't remember as I've been away for so long! Anyhow, I hope you enjoy
13. Really looking forward to it! This will be my third year. Hopefully want to meet with Dave from Megadeth My only criticism is that the slapping and popping can get a bit rowdy. I always walk out with a headache. Its not that I don't like slap and pop (I do it a lot myself oo'er!) its just constant, with loads of people doing it at different times, and at different sound levels. Ow. Apart from that, its a great experience. Good to just have the opportunity to chat about Bass with like-minded people.
