  1. yep, I'm a big Beatles fan but I get fed up with most singles because they get played so often, thankfully they're one of the few bands where album tracks, non singles, also get played. Not big Queen fan but even less so now, I listen to, mostly 3 stations for music, being an old fart, they're Gold, Virgin anthems and Absolute classic rock, a Queen song was being played on all 3 the other day 😓. Oldies stations have so many songs to choose from why do the same ones keep cropping up?
  2. well I always do whenever possible, saves damaging my headstock when I clout the singer round the head 😂, looks more symmetrical as well with us always having right handed guitarists (only one though, thankfully) our drummer is also left handed so the eye contact thing works
  3. Mull of Kintyre, which, being a Forest supporter is a real problem for me, when I used to go to matches I used to dread the start of the second half when the whole ground sings "City Ground oh mist rolling in from the Trent", part of the reason I don't go anymore, at least when they're on TV I Can mute the sound.
  4. I use green ones all the time, I get far more comments about them than about my playing 😂, where did you get them from?
  5. that's what I use now, a mate gave me an extension lead for his lawn mower that he didn't use anymore, ideal speaker cable, like you say orange, 2 core, and nice and chunky
  6. don't know about anybody else but I need a magnifying glass to see the + and - on the plugs 😕 edit, and all this talk of speakon plugs is not much use to the @Cheeto726 as it looks like his gear has jack sockets
  7. looks like they're old style jack plugs from the photos, I make my own up from old l 2 core lecy cables, bell wire is not advisable but anything a bit more substantial will do the job, and decent quality jack plugs, of course you need a soldiering iron for this
  8. the DR Neon's arrived today, no extra charges, bizarrely, according to tracking they came from Sweden!
  9. Don't do Jam nights, same old songs, usually the blues, with long solos for the guitard to show off, but if you think you're bad I was doing an open mic once, playing guitar, and a bass player asked if he could join in, I said "sure we'll do 500 miles, same 3 notes in the same order all the way through" thinking how easy it would be, somehow managed to make a right mess of it
  10. First thing I do at a gig is look round for table to put my 'stack' on, it's so much better for hearing myself, with the speakers at ear level.
  11. just ordered some DR neon's from stings by mail in the USA, after a couple of days leaving my order in the sites basket got a discount code for $5, which bought the total price down to £28, including postage, waiting to see whether I'll get any extra import charges
  12. I've got a black one, paid a mate £40 for it, a bit battered and heavy because it's ply, lovely bass though, I sound more like J J Burnel than with my precision, converted it to a lefty and got a new bridge from China for about 15 quid, the picture had Seymour Duncan quarter pounders pick ups on it but they made no difference so I put the stock De Marzi's back on
  13. well I've clicked to join, see what happens, though if it's not strongly moderated it'll finish up full of spam. Facebook is good for advertising gigs but not a lot else, unless you enjoy looking at others peoples holiday snaps and their meals
  14. if you saying what I think you're saying maybe you need a bigger screen or a new pair of glasses
