1.
Good stuff glad to hear it! I do miss all that ..... still - our son carries on the tradition of leaving a trail of greasy handprints!
Got to say mine is very tolerant too... Had the carbs stripped on the dining room table for a whole weekend, place stinking of petrol, not a word said! :-) Tried getting her into bass, bought her that purple precision especially, but in her words "my fingers are too small" I keep saying practice makes them stretch a bit! ;-)
 2. Awesome story, hope I'm still able to play when I'm that old!
 3.
Nice - is the rack on castors or some kind of sliders/rails?
It's on rubber fixed castors (75mm iirc from toolstation) to protect the laminate wood floor. Its very smooth running.
 4.
By the look of things, you may have a bit of an Attitude problem Nice solution, well done.
Yeah, been told this alot! :-P
 5.
Nicely done. I did something similar actually in the wardrobe. Give no more than 10cm to each guitar and fill it up.
Awesome! Yeah they've all got max 10cm... You got any pictures?
 6.
Alice in Chains fan?
I am, but I don't get the reference! Help!!
 7.
Cool idea and very simple. (Runs down to the patent office to register the "Bass slidomatic storage system" and retire to Barbados on the proceeds!)
Ha ha, love the name! Yeah that was the plan, simpler the better for me! the "off the shelf" multi guitar racks were too big for the space so I had to invent something similar, but smaller.
 8.
You've that many ties..?
Lol!!
 9. They say necessity is the mother of invention... Well combination of excess procurement (on my part) and lack of storage had resulted in grumpy missus. So out of necessity I built a hide it all away bass rack to fit in the tiny little gap between the wall and our wardrobe, that slides in and out on wheels! 10. There's a few good places... But depends on what live bands are playing.... I live in Edinburgh but places I go include : Box, nice n sleazys, firewater, garage, king tuts... Nearer central you have solid rock (not sure about live music) classic grand, cathouse. Maggie mays. Hope that helps?
 11. I went to a cracking festival last year (Les Fest in Lanarkshire, Scotland) and saw a load of UK based metal acts... I really enjoyed: Savage Messiah (wouldn't call these guys new though) Mask of Judas Disposable Martyr de mona Fahran Another band recently seen that were good were The Sun Explodes (Carlisle based) My mates band is pretty heavy and seems to be getting some decent success around Scotland with Bleed from within tour support and that their name is Excellent Cadaver. Check them out too.
 12. It's amazing how much of a difference mm make in the neck... I'm the opposite I have a J neck on my precision that is being swapped for a P neck, because I don't find the J neck comfortable anymore!
 13. Well I dropped in the bass with Chris yesterday and took my other P-bass in for a setup too. The setup on the bass was perfect! :-) Anyway he is now building me a birdseye maple neck with maple finger board and ebony binding! Cannot wait to see what this looks like and plays like when I get it back!
 14. Well I'm dropping into Chris on Saturday with the bass! :-) thanks for all the replies and help guys!
 15. Well I'm now in contact with Chris. So all going well he will be doing the worK, as he is pretty local! :-)
