  1. Still has the mutes too, very unusual.
  2. Yes not really a real short scale bass; I'm so glad you pointed that out just in case anyone really thought it was really real. If you don't like the idea, don't try it. And, anyway, it's as likely to put somone off short scale as encourage them.
  3. There's an easy way to see how a 30" short scale woudl feel for you. Detune your 34" bass from E-A-D-G to D-G-C-F. Apply a capo at the second fret. You now have a roughly 30" short scale bass. The dots will be in the wrong place but try it. Or you can play an actual short scale in a shop. Furthermore, if you are using 'one-finger-per-fret', try instead using 'index-middle-ring/pinkie/together' like an upright bassist, at least in the lower positions.
  4. I used Trubass on a Takamine B10 fretless for a while and they were fine, However I eventually replaced them with La Bella 760FS.
  5. Fifty years and I agree I have never heard a guitarist, or singer, or etc, mention Kenny Passerelli or Pierre Brocks. Can you tell me who they are?
  6. Nice! And didn't Marshall use the Fender Bassman as a model for the development of the early Marshall guitar amps?
  7. So, all in all, Leo got it right.
  8. 2022 purchases = nothing 2023 purchases = nada 2024 = ? No need to congratulate me.
  9. I did for several years in an Americana band ... fretless, flatwounds, piezo pickup, and amplified of course.
  10. This bass was discussed briefly in the Vintage Fenders thread ...
  11. I am my favourite bass player so can I be on the list? Please.
  12. Another straightforward track with fewer notes ...
  13. This one is comes after Gladys Knight left Motown but still has the excellent Bob Babbit on bass ...
