Total Watts

  1. One of these: https://www.thomann.de/gb/km_14052_stehhilfe.htm In reasonable condition. Certainly still very functional but it has been used extensively. A small amount of the paint finish has therefore started flaking off and although could not be considered wobbly, it is not as completely rock solid as it once was. I believe the price I am asking reflects the condition. It does fold up for transportation but it is quite heavy. Was originally my main double bass stool but I now use something which is more easily transportable (but is not as comfortable) It does have a very wide range of height adjustment (from 560 - 930 mm) so has many uses beyond just being a couple bass stool This is in Cambridge and is for collection only.
  2. I got this off this site a number of years ago and used it as a first double bass for my daughter to learn on. She has now moved on to a 3/4 sized instrument so it is time to move this on. Always hard to price these small sized basses but it is certainly worth somewhat more than I am asking for it. However, given that it was bought it off this site for £100, I am happy to pass it on for the same amount. Note however that at this price, I am considering this to be a fixed price and not open to negotiation. As you will see from the photos, the bass is in generally good condition with no splits or cracks. Clearly there are a few scruffs and scrapes but that it generally expected on a double bass. The main thing to note is that the endpin is not a great fit into the body and therefore the endpin comes out at a slight angle. Probably would not be a particularly significant problem to sort but given that this has been total stable whilst in my ownership, I have never seen the need to touch it. The bass plays with a reasonable tone (certainly far better than you would expect for the price I am charging). The action could probably be considered to be slightly on the high side but it is still more than playable as it is. Even though it is a 1/2 sized bass, the end-pin can be extended so that it is a comfortable play for adults. Being a 1/2 size, the scale length is about 37" which is not significantly longer than a long scale bass guitar. It could therefore be considered to be an ideal starter instrument for someone looking to transition between bass guitar and double bass. The bass comes complete with a case. As can be seen from the photos, this is not a great fit but does the job of protecting the instrument. The instrument does not come with a bow. This bass is in Cambridge and is clearly for collection only.
  3. Bought a book off Mark. Everything was easy.
  4. If you look at the Harmony Central reviews for the Tascam MP-BT1 (or more precisely its close cousins and the previous CD based variant), there seems to be some question as to the robustness and reliability of this device. Does anybody here have any views on this? Is the general opinion that they are fine as long as they are treated with a reasonably amount of respect? Cheers Stuart
