1. Typical! Pop by BassChat to see if anyone happens to be selling anything in the upper end of the Ibanez SR series, find the bass of my dreams only to discover it was sold the day before! These basses are seriously under estimated! May the lucky buyer enjoy a good few years on the SR band wagon! I doubt the'll regret it!
2. Thanks for your help guys! Really appreciate it! Megallica - it's apparently in a pawn shop so I'm guessing they have no idea how to treat an instrument! And also why it's probably lacking so heavily on the description! Matt - after reading your comments I've managed to find the same bass but in black. I swear I spent the whole day hunting through all the models to no avail. Where've you been all my life! http://en.euroguitar.com/bass/aria/igb/65/143545.html Are they really worth £500 new? Not that that means a great deal but always helps to know. Also, is this the Billy Gould model? I know little about him other than he goes to war with his bass and gets one hell if a unique sound! Any reviews? Is it worthwhile for £250? Cheers guys! Joel
3. Hello all, My friend has stumbled upon an Aria Pro II bass for sale but we cannot work out the exact model. I've found a few pictures online of similar models but none that have the 5 control pots. I'm guessing it has a 3 band EQ and possibly a balancer and volume pot. It has a Duncan Designed pick-ups, which suggests to me that this is a low to middle of the road jobby. I'm not sure if it's active of passive. I would assume active with the EQ but I'm no pro. I have no idea what woods are used, or even what the back looks like. From the pictures I'm pretty sure it's a bolt on neck, but again, can't be sure. The details the seller is giving are very limited but we have two photos. Any ideas anyone? I'm interested to know how much these things go for new. It looks nice, but looks can be deceiving. My closest guess would be a Aria IGB-68 Integra, but I'm guessing this model has changed through the years. Thanks in advance!
4. Thank you both! I think the Stagg is looking better and better by the minute, everywhere likes it and only a few slates which are usually productions errors and are soon sorted. I appreciate your offer, Brian, though with your advice I think I'm gonna go straight for the Stagg. Good value for money I think. Also, I've been reminded that a year ago or so, I played on one for about an hour in a music shop. Its got to be.... Thanks again! Joel
5.
PS - whereabouts are you? There maybe someone not too far from you who would be willing to let you try theirs. Basschat is good like that
Thanks for that, really appreciate it! I'll have a look at Talkbass see what comes up. I must say, the Stagg has been given a lot of good reviews which is a benefit, especially when there aren't any reviews anywhere for the other two. I play in a local function band in the Guildford, Surrey area and we do a lot of blues and are trying to work in some Jazz so I aim to try it out on stage eventually. Do you use your Stagg for blues or walking bass lines? If so does it feel comfortable to play in that manner? Many thanks Joel
6. Hello all, I'm about to make a small transition from bass guitar to EUB and I'm hoping you can help me choose my first. I don't have a great deal to spend, probably about £600 and these are the ones I've found that meet that range: Harley Benton EUB 500 BK - £305.76 http://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_eub...ric_upright.htm Stagg EDB 3/4 H - £314.28 http://www.thomann.de/gb/stagg_edb_34_h.htm Electric Double Bass by Gear4music - £565 http://www.gear4music.com/Woodwind-Brass-S...-Gear4music/8HS I'm not quite sure what to look for other than 4 strings and stands up on its tip. Does anyone have any of the above or can anyone translate the descriptions and advise on which is best? Any help will be greatly appreciated Many thanks guys Joel
