2. Bump. I can understand no one interested but if anyone could provide some price guidance I'll pop it on ebay. Many thanks
3. Well I have decided not to convert this to a fretless so it's to be sold. No idea of vintage (or not as the case maybe) but a few points; Maple neck with rosewood fingerboard. The neck has been professionally reprofiled so it's slimmer front to back and is silky smooth and it stays in tune very well and a nice action - at least I think so EMG Select pickup Fender Precision logo instead of the Squire one - not my doing but looks nice It does have a few scuffs and a bit of buckle rash I'll throw in a basically new Bass Centre logo'd Warwick Rockbag as well to keep it cosy. Not sure what it's worth so offers please. Would prefer collection from farnborough, Hants or London City/Canary Wharf. Thanks for looking.
4. I use a fairly old setup, Dual 450 G4 running Protools Le via a Digi001 whith a baby HUI controller. Been using it for years and will regret upgrading but it's just not upto modern softsynths and plugins. As a recording environment it is rock solid, as reliable as my Yamaha AW2816 and that is saying something
5. Been playing - or at least trying to for about a year. Decided at the age of 42 that I'm fed up sitting in a room with a computer and a couple of synth's (although I still do of course) and that I really should learn to play an instrument properly. As to what, that was never in question had to be bass My main pleasure with synths is creating pumping bass lines. So stumbled on for 6 months then got an excellent tutor - Paul Geary is a top bloke - and if I actually practiced everyday would be starting to become reasonably competent player . Obvious 4 string at present although I have recently aquired a 5 string version of my 4 - cheap yet great instruments these Status Grooves.
6. Hi Buzz, The Squire actually ahs a very nice neck, no fret buzz at all. However as you say I have other basses I prefer to play. I like the idea of having a fretless to experiment with, even though I'm far from an accomplished player. The only thing I'm not sure about having followed Steve_K's advice and looking at tutorials online (doen't seem to be that difficult) is radiusing the neck. Would a fretless benefit from a slit radius or a more pronounced one? Where does one buy the radius blocks?
7. Thanks guys are have a look at both options Cheers Peanut
8. I have a Squire P which is very nice, has a reprofiled neck and sounds good but never gets used as my Status Grooves are used in preference. With a second hand value of about 60-80 pounds it's hardly worth the hassle of selling so I've been thinking of converting it to a lined fretless. My questions are; Is this a simple (ish) job I could do myself and if so what is the process? It would probably cost more than the bass to get a luthier to do the job. many thanks Peanut

http://www.windmill-guitars.com/
Never even heard of them before but I like the look of the Spitfire, very nice. Peanut
