1. Lo all! My band Blue Origin have just put up a new video, for our new single Godless, now, it's not the "best" bass playing in the world, as far as technicality goes, buuuut, I dig it, & it works for the song, & that's what's important! I'd like to know what you guys think, about the performance, quality of the video, music, arrangement, anything really, any & all comments are welcome! Enjoy! 2. Some photos with my current favourite bass... plenty of pointy!!
3. Well, I need some money with Christmas coming up, sooooooo, my trusty Hartke LH500 is going on the chopping block... 500 watts, valve pre-amp, sounds wicked, plenty of power, takes pedals & active basses really well, & generally just sounds awesome, used by various bass players, from Dave Ellefstone to Victor Wooten, now THAT's flexibility!! There are a few scratches on the top, from foolish sound guys & the like, but they're only cosmetic. It's sat atop the Peavey in this photo, I'll get some proper photos when I'm next at practice. 4.
i'll get a quote if you like might be best to take the valves out wrap em up safely and pop em safely inside let you know tomorrow.
That'd be awesome if you could! All I'll need next is a 4x15 cab
5. I'm really tempted with this, just wondering, would it be possible to get a courier to deliver it to around the Stoke area if I pay for it?
6. ... this amp is going to plague me for the rest of my life if I have any luck getting cash together after moving I'll be able to hit you up on this.
7. This is my current board with my hard rock band, using it with a couple of active thunderbird style basses & an active jazz. Just picked up the Shoe Gazer yesterday & tried it out at a gig last night, so far I'm LOVING it!! Should be moving around the board abit & generally improving it, with room for my wah & chorus (aswell as a better power supply & octaver)
8.
The cloth, with pedals still attached, came out of mine last week when I tried to remove one pedal.
I've been having the exact same problem with mine. On a happier note, hopefully should have a new Devi Ever pedal soon
9. How about a Demonator, or Spire? But maybe they're abit too pointy? Demonator: We're recording our next CD next week, & I'm popping into see the guys at Dean UK while I'm down in London, so if I get to try one of the new Entwistle basses, I'll let you know how they play & feel.
10. I'm pretty happy with the Behringer that I'm using, but I'd quite like to take Tone Hammer out for a spin...
11. Gibson Thunderbird Gibson Ripper Gibson Grabber Gibson RD Rickenbacker 4003 Mosrite Ventures Dean Demonator All of these are cool as hell
12. I love me some pointy basses!!
13. We're a UK based hard rock band, taking influence from bands ranging from Muddy Waters, to Pantera, whilst stopping off at Shinedown, Led Zep, & Pink Floyd along the way. Having gigged up & down the country for the past year, we've shared the stage with unsigned acts such as Sworn to Oath, Fury UK & Heaven's Basement, aswell as Ska legends Bad Manners. 14.
Well, unless I'm mistaken - certainly for the BDDI , it's 'speaker simulation' has a massive scoop in the mids and is likely to make things worse for you. I am making an assumption based on the fact that I haven't tried the Leads or Oxford models that they may do the same.
Yeah, I did used to use a BDDI, it sounded ok, but I didn't like the mid scoop, even when I only blended in a little of it's drive, I'm finding the character pedals more tempting though, as they have mid controls & I think you can turn the speaker sim off... although I havn't been able to try one.
