  1. Despite changing to a Line6 Pod GO recently, I have no intention of selling my MX81 yet. It's such a great pedal.
  2. I definitely had a Peavey bass when I was younger but cannot for the life of me remember what it was or even what it looked like. 🤔 I have a 1991 foundation fretless that I currently have up for sale but I always, always wanted a TL5. I stopped looking a few years back as I didn't want to go out of my way to finally find one, only to be disappointed that it wasn't as good as I thought it was going to be. Same goes for the Yamaha BB5000.
  3. Still only done that 1 gig in 2023 and literally only brought out when I need to learn a new song for the band which isn't that often.
  4. I've just ordered myself a new soldering station and am planning on replacing the electronics on this bass for new shiny bits so if you are interested in this and want to buy it in it's original form then now's the time, otherwise I will rewire it and include the original parts when it sells.
  5. That's interesting: https://www.guyker.com/en-gb/products/guyker-bb102-drop-d-tuner-for-bass?srsltid=AfmBOoru2sKHVHXoffVSpT6S8K_KJDsreq32i_nrBHbchhrhjfdOl_wW
  6. I made myself a custom set of Chromes similar to this except I used a 110 E string as I dropped to D quite often. I still have them and use them from time to time. That was back in the day when you could order 4 single strings for about the same cost as a full set
  7. Is there anything recommended around the £50-70 mark? I want to teach myself to solder - in all honesty I really don't want to spend £200 on something that I'm not going to use a great deal but at the same time I don't want to buy garbage. It would be purely for soldering bass electronics and nothing else and I like the idea of a soldering station with a temperature control but if someone could recommend a soldering iron which operates at the best temperature for this type of work then I'd be happy with that as well. I've made the mistake over the years of buying rubbish and wondering why it was rubbish so want something good enough to make a decent job of soldering stuff.
  8. The more I think about it, the more I agree with both of you. I remember trying to solder years ago with a cheap soldering iron and rubbish solder and making a complete mess of it and it put me off soldering. This is why for years I have relied on solderless harnesses or active EMGs Maybe it's time to buy something decent and teach myself - there's bound to be a lot of youtube videos out there explaining the whole process.
  9. I briefly had this on my Musicman Sterling and since I don't have the bass anymore then I may as well sell this as well. Bought new a few years ago and only used on 1 bass. It comes with the ferrule, screws & manual. Postage is likey to be around £5 but I'll work that out when I get the chance
  10. I've just found most of the electronics including the battery box but don't have any of the nuts/washers/knobs for the pots or the screws or battery clip for the battery box. I also remembered that I'd taken pictures prior to snipping the wires just in case
  11. In my quest for the ultimate balancing bass I bought one of these earlier last year but was never happy with the sound so tried different pickups then gave up and put it back in its bag. Currently, it's missing all electronics, although I do have the original pickups (no screws) that I will include. I was planning on buying a set of the new EMG E4W pickups but being absolutely honest, I'm never going to use it so it's time for it to go. It comes with it's gig bag and all of the tools required to change strings, adjust the truss rod etc and I think that it's fitted with my usual Hybrid Slinkies. it looks almost brand new, pretty much because it is. I think I used it for maybe 3 gigs at the most. I have already done the thrust bearing mod to make the tuning smoother No messing about so looking for £400 or reasonable offer. I have the original packaging for this so can post it. The weight is coming in at a back friendly 5.8lbs using the on and off the scales method - plus whatever the electronics will weigh. I prefer payment by bank transfer and have done this many times with other members on the forum as a buyer and as a seller. If you are too far away to collect then I am happy for you to arrange a courier to collect it.
  12. Unsurprisingly, sale pending 🙂
  13. I bought this at the beginning of 2024 then promptly quit playing 😂 I had it stored in a cupboard and only remembered about it towards the end of last year so got it out and used it for a couple of the Christmas gigs. It's a U serial number which could be 1996 or 2010 but I think that it's more likely to be 2010. From memory it features an ash body, maple neck with rosewood board & block inlays and US pickups. Before I used it I gave it a full set up including adjusting the truss rod so everything is working as it should. It comes with 2 gig old Hybrid Slinkies. Its in pretty good condition for a 15 year old bass with a few light scratches here and there - the worst ding is pictured but it's right at the edge of the body so difficult to see. It comes with it's original standard issue Fender Japan gig bag. It also comes with the bridge cover fitted but never had a pickup cover with it when I bought it. It sounds incredible and I am only selling it as I have far too many basses so am aiming to get down to 2 - a main bass and a backup. I can't remember what I paid for it and am having trouble finding sold examples of this so have started it at £1100 but am open to offers. It's something a bit different as it has the blocks & binding, 3 bolt neck plate, bullet truss rod, US pickups and matching headstock but if you think I'm way off on the pricing and are interested in the bass, then send me a message and we can see if we can work something out. I have the original packaging for this so can post it. The weight is coming in at a reasonable 9.8lbs using the on and off the scales method so it's no lightweight nor is it a boat anchor. I prefer payment by bank transfer and have done this many times with other members on the forum as a buyer and as a seller. If you are too far away to collect then I am happy for you to arrange a courier to collect it. If you are concerned about couriering it then I may have a solution 😉
  14. I'd love to spend the time taking this apart, polishing it and replacing the pots but I just don't have the time. Price reduced to a well below market value of £450.
  15. Clear out time so now reduced to £250. There's one on Ebay with a case and a starting price of £440 which is probably what they're worth and cheap at twice the price for a US made bass
