1. OK, after my previous post, I've now completed the gig I had to get through and can now get around to selling this Music Man Stingray before I go and save the world. Its in fine condition, no massive dinks or anything nasty, no belt rash and the necks just corking. From what I Can make of the Music Man serial number database, its about a 1993 model (sn 41001), 3 EQ, and I believe I'm the 2nd owner. Previous owner was an enthusiast who found that his kids didn't work with bass playing. I'm selling as I'm off around the world to do voluntary work and need the dosh (and my Jazz will remain my favored axe). Pictures attached. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. I'm selling it with its Hiscox hardcase, and its straplocks/strap. The important question? Well, I'd like AROUND £800 for it, but I know thats pitching high...so if you are interested, put your best negotiating trousers on and come and speak to me - I openly accept a bit of haggling, the best haggler will walk away with it. The only thing I'll accept in part trade would be some kind of travel bass, nothing else. Available to try out in either Cheltenham or I can get up to the midlands (warwickshire/b'ham way). Either way, provide your own amplification. Have to say this was my first 'ray, and one day I'll probably own another. I've loved playing it, but its now time we have to part. Please take care of it!!!
2. This is a bump as the 8 string is still for sale due to a time waster. Fender Rhodes now listed on eBay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...23#ht_500wt_949 and the stingray is about to get an advert of its own on here!
3. ...and for good measure, here's a video of me playing it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DRmugX6Hx2E And to answer the most consistent PM question, I'm in Cheltenham, but will travel as far north as Walsal to deliver (not to provide a viewing). As for price, dunno yet, as I'm 2 gigs off selling the bugger! Suggestions!??!?
4. Yeah, that rules a bugger isn't it! For the 8, £150 nails it, first offer over £125 probably a close second, but happy to negotiate. Hey, we're all part of the guild. As for the 'ray, dunno yet as its a bit on the horizon. Having a look around though, they appear to have devalued a bit of recent. I'll say 'sensible offers considered' at this point, while I'll hastily look at prices. No trades I'm afraid. I've had several years of GAS and I now have to cull my collection to the bear bones before I leave the country. ..oh, and if you know anyone that wants a Fender Rhodes electric piano, point them at me (MkII stage piano, 88 key). cheers
5. Howdy I'm selling 2 basses off, and have just posted one on fleabay only to realise i've got a valid account here! Anyways, if anyone is interested in an Ace Pro 8 string, thru-neck, 3band active EQ bass that is the best Korea has to offer, have a quick check on the 'bay and you should see my listing. If you want any more information, ping me here. I'm also on the cusp (ie 2 gigs off) selling a Stingray. More to follow on this, but again, ping me if interested. Cheers!
6. Brethren Its time to go into rig territory. Finances are being kind and I'm doing more and more gigs in bigger venues and different sorts of music. I play in a latin/funk/fusion outfit but also a straight funk band and a dance/DJ think (think Squarepusher). My current Roland DB500 just doesn't cut the mustard any more. I want something thats going to remove peoples hearts at a distance when I plug either my jazz or my EUB in. I put this to Dave 'The Bear' at PMT in B'ham (What a splendid fellow). He immediately pointed me at the Mesa M Pulse 600. I had a great time playing with it, and I'm sorely tempted. However, I seek peoples experiences with them, and cabinet configurations as well. I need something punchy, heart stopping, but lightweight would be a bonus. Any thoughts? MTIA tim
7. Whoah!!! Thanks for the top info. Is just a punt really, so the lesson plan may well be a good idea thanks again, top advice...once again, what a top forum this is
8. Howdy Someone near me has a double bass for sale at a price that makes me think 'something has to be wrong with it' however they claim its just taking up space. I understand its Czeck...Check...Cehck...made in the former republic My question is...what should I look out for? I'm hoping to go and see it this weekend and want some pointers on things that I need to be aware of before laying out any cash. Its a punt - would be my 1st foray into DB world, but a life long desire fulfilled to get one. Checklists appreciated tim
