1. Left my last band four years ago - simply too much marijuana in the band. I've nothing against people having a toke, but when I'm lugging my gear over there (on the bus, no less) I expect far more than to play two or three songs before the others skin up and proceed to discuss government conspiracies for the next three hours. When they cancelled a gig because they couldn't be arsed, that was the end of my tolerance - I'll not work with anyone who doesn't put the effort in again. Leave your vices for your own time.
2.
Sadly this is almost on a par with the OP's find. https://youtu.be/B5NoXaSajq0 Great quote: "Complex tempos, rough but beautiful vocals, amazing tone, these guys have it all. And the fact that they can play in four time signatures at once is incredible "
The fact that they managed to snag Christian Bale's Batman for vocal duty is equally impressive
3.
Yup, I bought the London Calling album on double heavyweight vinyl last month. Fantastic opening track, then just a load of forgettable filler after that!
There's a couple of really enjoyable tracks but I've never been a fan of listening to it altogether. Hateful and Rudie Can't Fail are easily two of my all time favourite Clash tracks though.
4. Brilliant band. Caught them at Hyde Park and they put on a hell of a show, I'd gladly see them again.
5. Did it and donated to MND, was good for a laugh and enjoyed going round the houses of the mates I nominated to chuck the water over them
6.
It's a shame 'sex' is in there, but the middle one scans better. Hyphens are a no-no in domain names these days. They're a bit early 2000's.
Agree with this.
7. Queensryche - Operation: Mindcrime Stone Roses - Stone Roses Guns n Roses - Appetite for Destruction Hey! Hello! - Hey! Hello!
8.
Music for people who don't actually like music is a huge market. See also: stupidly big cars for people who can't drive; best-selling novels for people who can't read and a plethora of 'luxury goods' for discerning consumers who don't know their arses from a hole in the ground. Ooh, I'm grumpy today all right!
Quote of the century!
9. Makes for a nice bit of extra publicity for it. Glad I've got my ticket as it's a cracking lineup and Sabbath were brilliant when I saw them in 2012, but if it really ends up being the last one I'll eat my bat. Erm, hat
10. Gutted I missed their date by us the other night; saw them performing Space Ritual last year and they were spot on.
11. Saw them twice on the tour, Sheffield and Birmingham - brilliant both times, I was tempted to get a ticket for Manchester the following week but apparently it was sold out
12. Add another vote in for Magnu and Robot - both great songs and been brilliant when I've seen them play them live.
13. I actually tend to do a lot more recording and playing when the weather's better because I'm in a much more upbeat mood and more motivated to get something worthwhile done with my time. In poor weather I have more of a 'Can't be arsed' feeling so tend to watch more telly or read more than actual practising.
