  1. Have a look here https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/490616-vox-starstream-h1-short-scale-with-kent-armstrong-pickup/
  2. I don't own a SR300, but as others have said SRs a very well priced 2nd hand - just be aware that it's really only the SR300s that use the Powerspan pickups. So if you've tried one and liked how it sounds, anything higher up the range will be similar, but will have different pickups.
  3. Although on mentioning this to my Dad, he's just offered me his Mighty Plug since he doesn't use it. Damn him for ruining my GAS! 😂
  4. I have been in a pretty long term funk with not playing - whilst the basses are out, any amp I have is tucked away behind other things so I can't just pick up a bass on the spur of the moment. I've heard very good things about the NUX but this seems a touch more polished (as you would expect). I reckon this could be a purchase and see if it gets me playing again!
  5. We are very spoilt with how we can communicate, and it is very frustrating when we don't receive answer to what we view as a simple question after the standard 3-5 working days. If you really like your Lionel, I would persevere with trying to get the specs you want. Again, we are spoilt for choice with basses, but if you like something the patience might pay off. I would try either GuitarGuitar or Classic & Cool Guitars as they might have encountered your question before and have an answer, or have a better line of comms to Sandberg. Might not be a quick answer, but it might get you what you want in the long run.
  6. Looks cool, but the tuners on that bridge look much longer than you see on other headless bass bridges. No idea if that's a positive or not?
  7. Hmmm, the natural and the black look great with the cream covers. Only thing I've heard is that preamp on these isn't the best, but again that's a bit personal preference isn't it. Might try one if a local shop gets one.
  8. That's the thing about Cort. They make enough instruments to know exactly what works and what doesn't. The fit and finish is alway super, I've just yet to find one that makes me think "I need to buy this". Just not connected with one, similar to Ibanez for. I know it's a brilliant instrument, but just not for me. Maybe this could be the one 😅
  9. I spotted this over on a Vulfpeck forum and thought it might interest some here. The Fearless Flyers niche is that they all play with their guitars on stands, I guess for that "flying" image. A fan who suffered from arthritis and shoulder issues saw that and decided to make his own to see if it helped his issues - apparently not having to support an instrument has made a positive impact on his ability to play again. Yes this is probably over engineered but I know a good few on this forum struggle with the weight of basses so thought this might interest a few here - https://www.etsy.com/shop/Walkupz
  10. I knew you could spec the Cali for short scale, but didn't realise retailers were ordering them for stock. Looks good!
  11. Nice find! My two favourite Warwick body shapes are the Dolphin and the Fortress. One day I'll take the plunge and get one. Enjoy yours!
  12. Appreciate you can just leave the 734 in passive, but at what point do you think you might be better off with the P34 or even the 434 and upgrade the pickups? Appreciate colours and finishes may play a part in this.
  13. Was trying to think of the best place to post this, but it doesn't really fit anywhere so thought I'd start a thread for any cool basses you see/own/want that don't really fit anywhere else! Starting us off with the Brute Flying V(ixel), super cool take on the flying v.
  14. Obviously depends on budget - but the new Cort Space range at £700ish could be another answer for you. Not talking down the quality of SQOE basses but Cort a bit more of a known quantity.
