Chewie started following Recommend Me A Fat Jazz Bass Bridge Pickup

Good morning groovers, I've got a 2008 CV Jazz and the bridge pickup is a bit lame. I've seen a set of Bareknuckle Jazz pickups and am considering "treating" the bass to them. Who's really happy with their bridge pickup and what you got under the hood........? Thank you in advance, Chewie.

AH150 covers a lot of ground. I think the SMC stuff is slightly less old? Either way the extra cab should come in handy. It will really wake up the combo assuming all is original.

Bought recently on here - great compressor that can also add some very nice saturation if required, but does clean. Can go from very subtle through to really heavy compression - Bassics is the brand of effects sold at the legendary ‘Bass Centre’ shop in London. Really great especially for this price, but I need something smaller (would take a Spectracomp in trade) Paid £70 recently from the ad below 👇 but I need something smaller! Happy to take trades, compressors, preamps etc - can add cash for the right thing. All I have done is add some duo-lock to the bottm, but can remove if preferred. High quality compressor at a really good price! £60 inc tracked delivery

This could be a good shout as my wife had loads of nail painting things. Thanks 👍

I can honestly say that our three-piece band must be in the ranking of worst-sounding clap-trap out there. I certainly wouldn't listen to us.

The problem with having kids that are in to music too is that they keep on nicking my stuff! My daughter commandeered this bass after I cleaned it up, so haven’t yet had a chance to see if the active circuit still lives!

What's Unique About Your Primary Band?
Leonard Smalls replied to Bluewine's topic in General Discussion
"Punk" band: We've got 2 bass players We have added funk Some of our songs are quite complex and have far too many notes 😁 Other (whatever it is!) Band: All the other members apart from me have previously found some level of fame... Sequencers and backing track E-Drums Big Bass grooves and Wall of guitar moments... "Blues" band: More funky than bluesey Only blues band in the world that does a cover of Sylvester's "Do You Wanna Funk" Only blues band in the world that does a song based on an Ornette Coleman's Prime Time song... -

I've never bothered greasing them. So similar to my S2000. Interesting...

Lovely trio. I've been playing for over fifty years now and have had all the usual suspects, including Wal, Alembic, Spector, Dingwall, etc. overwater basses are the hands-down winners for me. Enjoy.

This is as hard-hitting as Lucinda’s songs, and to be frank it’s a wee bit too honest. But that makes it compelling reading, so if you like her music it’s a solid investment. If you don’t know who she is, consult YouTube immediately… Hardback, very good condition. RRP £20, yours for £13 posted. Now just £11.

Well I can tell you the 5-string version was very light, and this is obviously a little lighter again. They sit on the strap at a similar angle to a Status S2 design. Very central and perfect balance. I will say that the narrower neck is even faster to whizz around on than the five, which was already very fast.
