I have a coffee burst 734 and it's a great colour, even better in real life, but there's just something special about the new red and green ones. Classic vintage BB colours.

From the clips up on YouTube from recent gigs poor Bruce doesn’t look in good shape at all, even his playing seems a tad laboured and lacking intensity.
-
I bought it on a whim to be honest. I am not too bothered about it losing value as it’s no different in that regard than any other bass I have ever bought, there are some things that need addressing though which hopefully won’t compromise the originality. Cheers.

Fender Bassman 500 w/Flight Case - £550

It’s not ‘minty fresh’ and does have some wear which gives it character. It’s fair to say that I’m not too bothered about the value aspect, but I would like to cure the earthing issue and sort out the noisy pots.

The value in an old Fender bass is its originality. They’re not prized for their weight, built quality or playability. That’s the vintage market distilled into two sentences. If you want a vintage Precision, keep the lovely one you have. If you want a durable, versatile and lightweight bass that will perform for the long term, I’d buy a modern Fender Pro series bass. If you start changing bits it’s not original and the value will lower, in some cases, significantly.

Oooo I like that. I regret selling my 734A, such a great bass. I’m glad I’m back in the Yamaha club now I’ve got a 1024x.

The similarity to Geddy Lee is only that the bass is prominent in the mix and very melodic, while sometimes 'busy'. Fortunately. Bruce was very influential on my own playing and inspired me to use Rickenbacker basses.

I find it hard to make chart like this settle when the tempo is so fierce. The difference between two sixteenth notes is tiny and easy to flunk.

Massive Improve'lence* to my Dingwalls!

Many, many bass manufacturers give no thought to their instruments' user interface, and sadly Dingwall are no exception. Congratulations on solving a problem that Dingwall couldn't be arsed to solve for themselves 👍🙂 -

I’m very sad to hear about Sam’s passing. She was always the voice of reason and compassion. We exchanged a few messages and she seemed like such a genuinely lovely and caring person. Terrible news, and my thoughts go to her friends and family.

It’s a Hipshot BT7 on the Ida bass Sandberg told me to install a D tuner it requires drilling extra holes. The BT7 resembles our design the closest Bass Direct said Sandberg tuners are a specific size and Hipshot don't offer a direct replacement. The Ida Nielsen bass from Sandberg uses an extender and its a BT7
