Suburban Man started following TC Electronic BH250 Amp, boxed - £135

My neat, little, but chunky, BH250 for sale, excellent cosmetic condition, all working perfectly. A solid state amp that has mostly lived indoors and been well looked after. The built-in tuner is useful and the TonePrint feature enables you to download and check out a whole host of effects. Comes with a mains lead. Postage at cost if you want me to mail it to you.

I’ve got a Coffeeburst 734a on hold with someone till month end - it’s strung with flats and will be used for different gigs, but I can’t wait. I am seriously thinking about tinkering with the electronics on them but we’ll see

Any VIPs out in the wild yet? Would love to hear some real world feedback regarding that potentially dodgy right switch/pot placement, as even raised I still feel like it wouldn't last a week of my gig stomping! 😅

How long do You use a set of flatwound strings?
msb replied to Johannes's topic in General Discussion
I have flats on most basses , usually TIs on long scale basses and LaBellas on the shorts. I have on occasion decided that perhaps they were due for a change. I have no idea how long they had been on. I do have a few with rounds. Some are regularly changed. A few have ancient rounds. My Longhorn still carries the factory strings , it was made around 98 or so years ago, and saw constant use for years. My hands do not sweat much , I do wipe them down anyway. I usually pick up 4/5 sets of strings most years. -

It's always a pleasure to deal with Jim. We've bought and sold items with each other a few times, with Jim most recently purchasing a pedal from me. He's knowledgeable about pedals and always happy to chat about them. Very highly recommended as a buyer or seller.

I wouldn’t be the one to give you expert analysis but it’s just a sound better box to be honest. Based on Neve 1073 so as if your bass signal was going into a nice channel strip in a studio. You can decide how much saturation you get by changing gain and compensation with level. This will not work as an eq It does have an amp out which you could use to continue your signal and have the option of the xlr out. As well.

Seems a bit of an odd thing, that Overlord function, is that what's new with this version? Just feel like anyone looking to have that kind of tone will already have something separate for the fuzz (the Doom 2, for example!) that'll be much better and more usable. Seemed to get lost with the clean blend as well? Nice to hear it though, does sound good but it's a big price tag and hard to get compared to the many other octavers out there that sound very similar. Worth the outlay?

You mean you don't lift the needle off the record after each phrase then write it down? 😳 Or rewind the cassette? 😯 Sheesh 🙄

New (Jazz bass) neck incoming...looking for advice on machine heads. Ideally, I'd like to put a set of something that apes the long-stem Kluson style/design; I just like the visual aesthetic of these. Anyone know who makes something similar?

Brilliant 👍🏼

Amazing Lego Minimoog project - please support
itu replied to Quatschmacher's topic in General Discussion
What was missing from Billund, was the historical view to LEGO. I happened to visit https://www.leksaksmuseet.se/ in Sweden, Stockholm (maybe 10 years ago). There were lots of old boxes and sets from maybe 60's and 70's. That was closer to the original idea of toys you can build and break and build again. Modern boxes look like collector's items.- 26 replies

Hawkwind at a sold out at Birmingham Symphony Hall last night. They really are at the top of their game and played several tracks I've never or rarely heard live before. Felt totally fresh with a 90% new setlist but utterly awesome. Dave Brock was in great form on vocals, keyboard and guitar... he's 83 now! The support band, Cornish-language psychedelic folkrockers Hanterhir were very good too.

Just remembered there’s one for sale on here.

If your’re happy in short scale but want wider string spacing then the. Gibson EB2/ Epiphone Rivoli semis are precisely that. Admittedly the originals are rather pricey but Epi did a reissue that sell 2nd hand for reasonable money. They have the thump in bucket loads.

I’ll consider a reasonable offer on this. I could really do with selling this (and a few other things) as I’ve been signed off with stress due to my son’s mental health issues and will go onto half pay at the end of next month due to having already had so much time off for cancer treatments! It’s forcing me to take a hard look at my gear.

Aye, quite reliant on the other bass player standing behind ‘Paul Wellers’ amp. He didn’t play everything but you could see him picking up bits. Plus shaking a tambourine with the left hand and fretting with the right. Was all a bit sad. I can totally understand that Bruce has spent his life on stage so must be very hard to stop.
