  2. I think I know this pub, played there a couple of weeks ago! The toilet proximity is a constant danger to band members.
  3. It's also called Empress Wood. My Spector is made of it and it's absurdly light
  4. Sean mate what's happening 👍 Yes my Spector went a while back. A pbass pretty much does what I need, although I would like a matching jazz or a pj. I have a couple of fenders which tick the boxes, a rosewood oly white 1996 and a black on maple 2004. I can get most of what I need from them. Something about a pbass just does it for me.
  5. The Onward is definitely a trip. It takes a bit of attention to make it sound musical. If I try and do a progression, I have to be careful to play clean, since it can detect a change you didn’t intend and then loop the silence! It always sounds interesting, especially with a suitable amount of Error glitchiness, which is why I want to tweak that on the fly with the expression pedal.
  6. It used to be that the system was somewhat loaded in favour of establishing a small company instead of being self-employed. The ideabis to encourage entrepreneurs and grow the economy. Doing this and being VAT registered has enabled me to subcontract out work I would no otherwise have taken on. The income benefit of having a personal company instead of being self-employed was eroded so much under a succession of tory governments (reductions in dividend allowances and increase in dividend tax rates) the benefit is now so small that it is questionable if it's worth the effort. The way covid support was set up excluded single person companies and forced us into covid loans we are still paying off. Quite extraordinary for the 'party of smsll business'.
  7. @Basszilla, alright, mun? Tell me you didn't sell the Euro 4. 🤔
  8. May consdier trades/part trades with lightweight basses, or something Stingray Esq 😊
  9. Just bought a GFI system Skylar, and a Strymon Bluesky, sadly this is also giving me some headaches, I use Yousician for practice at home, but its detection system is so touchy that now i have so much latency in my pedalboard that Yousician doesn't detect my notes in time, but outside of practic they are extremly great sounding pedals
  10. In my experience the Korean made Skylines are the one. GLWTS 👍
  11. If this was in the UK, I'd be all over it!
  12. Played with the blues band in a tiny pub in Lanark. Didn't take many people to fill it so an enthusiastic audience of thirty created a great atmosphere. One downside was the access to the toilets door being immediately behind us. Two songs before the end of the first set I was aware of a most unpleasant honk emanating from said direction. Thankfully the air had cleared by the start of set 2. Man alive, it was grim for a while.
  13. Paul bought a Lakland DJ4 from me. Always a pleasure to deal with. Great comms, quick and easy transaction. Enjoy the bass, mate.
  14. This is from the first run in 2024 and is a fantastic instrument. I’ve loved owning it, but unfortunately space is becoming premium and with a house move looming, I need to free up cash and room. Still has the original Ernie Ball Cobalt flats with loads of life left in them (still actually quite zingy). I’ve actually toured this bass and it does a fantastic job - punchy, articulate and captures that Joe Dart/Bernard Edwards vibe wonderfully. The neck feels fantastic, very smooth and fast with a jazz-esque profile and nut width. No EQ, just a big ol’ volume knob stuck on the front and it’s all the better for it. I’ve filed the nut grooves slightly on the E and A strings as the action was a little high, now plays incredibly well with a low, fast action. It’s in 9.5/10 condition and I’ll be sad to see it go. Collection from Trelewis, South Wales, or happy to meet within 45 minutes distance or so. No trades unfortunately, I need the room and the money! £500. Any questions, drop me a message. Sam
  15. not sure mark has used pauliwinia as he didn’t kno anything about it when i spoke to him but a game changer as far as weight goes
  16. I’m normally over 15k steps 😉
  17. Nice @bnt - how’s the onward working out? I utterly ignored it when it came out thrn was a vid of it in action and could see the appeal
  18. It’s not improving the more I think about it. I was genuinely accused of being “aggressive” today…because I didn’t understand why I was accosted for unplugging a 3 plug adapter (not in use) so I could plug my extension lead in. still reeling over it.
  19. Today
  20. A couple of months ago I would have bought this on the spot. This exact model is a grail of mine. If by some miracle it's still here when my tax return comes through I'll be in touch. Though this isn't going to last long I'm sure. Beautiful!
  21. Hi mate. I'm sniffing around for a tenor. Did this sell? I'm very late to this party I know.
  22. I was going to make this point too. I used to have an old Park valve head which was designed for bass but was bought off me by a guitarist who reckoned it was the beat amp he'd ever played though. I assume this is why the original Fender Bassman amps are so popular with guitarists too. GLWTS
