  2. Warm Leatherette - Grace Jones
  3. Cheers for the offer Paddy, I might take you up on the offer sometime but we all know it has to be heard with the band and I have no rehearsals for a while (I still rehearse way more than you do though ). Saying that if I see one pop up for sale used I might need to make a quick decision so I could blast down and give it a whirl. Speak soon.
  4. Looking at the changes you want to make the only things that would alter it from being all original is the soldering would be disturbed which isn’t a big deal, definitely keep the parts, especially the pickups, pots and screws etc and bag them in your case or somewhere safe , you can refit them or include them if ever you wanted to sell it, just my opinion but it’s worth spending a bit more on a nice tort guard, it makes a big difference , good luck and it’s a lovely 78
  5. Hi, I will take this one off your hands - drop me a private message and we can sort collection/meetup cheers
  6. sorry to hear that
  7. Yeah maybe - I think I didn't really use it because there was no easy way to blend in clean. Just another way the meatball improved on the design imo
  8. well done mate, Van Morrison is normally known as difficult and cantankerous
  9. Thank you all, much appreciated. 👍

  11. I always look at the Acoustic gear on sale here and wish it was a practical choice for me. I spent my early years, as a bassist, lusting after a rig like John Deacon's. Way out of my price range at the time. I had a budget version with a 1x18 and two Sound City 4x12s but it was always the 371 rig I wanted. Green with envy and enjoy your new rig.
  12. I had a lull recently with bass playing inspiration. The thing that got me going was composing solo bass pieces but the real driver was that I created a SoundCloud account so that the music didn't just stay in the shed but is actually heard... albeit by about half a dozen people. I'm still working in it but knowing that complete strangers are going to listen, and judge, your output makes me put extra effort into it. Good luck with the treatment, hope it all goes well.
  13. Black Velvet - Alannah Myles
  14. Green Onions - Booker T & the MG's
  15. Yes, I love a bit of Thievery Corporation. I loved Hash playing bass on stage and stomping around before he allegedly went a bit.... off script! Dan Africano is a great replacement though!
  16. Another good idea, thank you. I spent a bit of time yesterday working on a short solo version of a song (not an original) that I've been playing about with for a while. Therapeutic.
  17. Is the bass still available please? I’m very interested!
  18. Active bass? You probably want https://www.guitarmania.co.uk/product/neutrik-barrel-jack-socket-nys2203/ but do a search on the part number NYS2203 to see if you can get it cheaper. Also worth posting the the "Repairs and Technical" sub-forum.
  19. I love my 750, great underrated head from the era of amazing TC bass gear
  20. The BC has led strips under the grill which you can still use if you get yourself a new power supply for it (prob a tenner or less).

  23. Agree with the thoughts above, mod it, play and enjoy it, and def keep the original parts.
  24. Just got home from my Spacewasters gig at The Hope & Anchor, Islington. 4 band bill, in an 80 capacity venue, luckily a dedicated storage area for gear. We headlined and played well, though it was soooooo hot down there, even setting up had us all sweating out half a stone. Didn’t bother with a soundcheck but the sound man was very good and kept the volume to reasonable levels. I played my black Fender JMJ Mustang into my Behringer BDI21, DI taken from that to FOH, and then into a small 100 watt Ashdown combo of some sorts for stage volume which was plenty. Due to my plantar fasciitis rather than DMs I wore my Skechers trainers.
