I went to a jam night tonight for the first time and it was fantastic. I was made to feel very welcome indeed, chatted to so many people. I did some songs with one of the Spectors and had a cracking night out. The sound was great, everyone was chilled, the music was good. I'm going back.

Have you ever fell out of love with an awesome bass?
Grooverjr replied to AngeR's topic in Bass Guitars
It can happen.....Ped fell out of love with his Vigier Passion, and now I am in love with it. I have no idea how you could ever fall out of love with something so wonderful but it just means others get to love it, I suppose. I like playing the field but I have never had any desire to own a Ray. They look good and all but sonically don't really do it for me. -
I've never come accross an early 4x10 combo that had switched speaker sockets, or any speaker sockets for that matter, especially on the PM2-S output boards. They were usually wired direct from the output board via male and female spade terminals to the green/orange wires from the cabinet. The back panel usually had blanking plugs, probably to discourage owners from using extension cabs. The 4x10 cabs were also 8 ohm so these type combos were probably not pushing out much more than 100 watts and were never intended to power an extension cab. But they were loud. The PM2-S versions run a lot hotter than the PM4-S versions, and there was normally a large cast frame Papst cooling fan that ran permanently on. I guess that's just how it is when dealing with amps that are 40+ years old. You can never be totally sure what is original and what is not. Even the most reliable kit will need servicing at some point, which might include modifications that could cause unexpected reliablity problems in the future. 🙂

Bird On A Wire - Leonard Cohen

I am a touring musician, songwriter and general music-playing/consuming derp with too many guitars and basses. I sing and play bass in a band called The Global Burn Theory, I like Glenn Hughes and Rex Brown just a bit too much, and my hair is roughly the length of a Leonard Cohen song. I will mostly be using this profile to sell basses/kit of mine that I no longer use, and to make room for more basses/kit that I will more than likely end up selling on, because I'm a bit of a pillock like that.

I too had booked to travel down (from Scotland) to attend the event . I've not received any notification from the organisers regarding their decision, or any news regarding ticket refunds.. Looks like I've now got train and hotel booked, so I guess I'll have a weekend of wandering around London trying to amuse myself instead. Not impressed.

After some gear culling, this is what I’m currently using at the moment.

There will be some slight overhang if using a standard sized pedals. But yes you can if your pedals have top jack and you use a tall dual lock to route cables underneath. Also depends on the size of the 3 pedals you are going to use. Here’s my current setup after some gear culling. All mounted on a pb2 and powered by onespot.

One more thing: I searched web for Yamaha catalogs and all I found had the version with bridge moved forward, no trace of ones looking like the red one.
