  1. Past hour
  2. I’m looking at getting a 5 string. And, as I’m mostly gigging shorts now, I thought I’d try and find a SS 5. Having a scan of this thread and multiple googles. Is the only real option for a 5 string shortie under £1k+ the Ibanez Talman & Micro? Am I missing something or is there a massive gap in the market here?
  3. played keys in the studio today clavinet into FTT Comp into 3Leaf Audio Proton quite funky
  4. Having relatives in the area surrounding Blackpool I don't think many of them are particularly happy with their proximity to Blackpool
  5. I didn't know there were MAGA boutique builders - I would have thought the only maga guitars are the chinese ones (that presumably are too expensive to import now!)
  6. Latest single from our album Sow Shall Ye Reap. Shot at a fantastic location in Dumfries and Galloway, Castle Volt. Check that place out. Hope you enjoy. PS Finally got the ACG 6er out in the wild 😀
  7. I hereby give notice of impending Gear Abstinence Failure. A 5 string has been sourced, ordered and paid for but has yet to arrive. In my defence, m'lud, a recent setlist update beyond my control has seen the need for some low B action (so the bigger boys in the band have told me) and they made me get one (and they stole my dinner money, too). Good luck to those who have stayed strong and loyal to this thread. Stay strong, brothers. 😀
  8. Yep, great instruments. The guy who I bought mine from had been using a Roland pickup on it, still has the small screw holes by the bridge. Great value on the used market too.
  9. Bump and a special offer... Buy it at the listed price and I'll throw in the Boss Bass Overdrive for nowt!
  10. 5 stars from me. I ordered a emg gzr p bass pickup last Thursday. It arrived on Friday but was ivory coloured, not black as expected. I gave them a call Friday afternoon and they sent a replacement out immediately with a return voucher for the original set.l which arrived Saturday. new set installed and sound amazing! ivory set will be winging their way back today. This was my first order with bassdirect. I had previously sold a bass a few years back through them but I’m really impressed they made good with a customer that was practically new to them. I was expecting to have to send them back before a new set would be sent out. so thanks very much - fantastic service
  11. Well it's quite near Merseyside, if you own a boat or can swim with your bass strapped to your back it might be doable. But yeah, although folk from Lytham don't like the fact it is just down the road from Blackpool.
  12. It took me ages to find one, the only ones I’ve seen were for sale abroad for £2k+
  13. Oh, wow, the 1306 series is incredible. Here is mine, with the sandwich body, which actually now has coil splittable EMG TWX pick ups.
  14. I'm pretty sure on the Schaller 3D the base and saddles are made of a zinc alloy, and only the rollers themselves are brass. The Power Jazz Bass Special had model number 27-9000 if that helps. There's a PDF scan of the original user manual on Fender's website that pops up as one of the first results when you Google search for "fender 27-9000", but none of the spec sheets mention the bridge type.
  15. It's a bit of a mystery. No other Midi connections open, all other Chrome tabs closed, no programmes open (includes the FI editor), Midi cables correct, FI in pairing mode, interface recognised and selected (in and out).....and still 'FI not present'. This has now been about 4hrs of muck about. Gotta say, this is the biggest downside of the FI (and I've seen many others with the same issue). 'user error' or 'wrong interface' 'not FI's problem' stops being a reasonable on a version 8 years after v1, clearly it isn't very user friendly/foolproof, could really do with a usb connection or something. I'm going to have to fork out for another midi interface, and if that doesn't work then I'll be selling the FI - as good as it is, it isn't worth the time/faff.
  16. Do you mean Blackpool? Because Lytham is nowhere near Liverpool.
  17. Today
  18. One of your kidneys should get you over the line …
  19. This was my first ever pedal, had so much fun with it! GLWTS
  20. Boston Tea Party - Sensational Alex Harvey Band
  21. Are you just speaking of the IEM mix here? I have always been of the opinion that, in most venues, a stereo front of house mix is only worthwhile at the mixing position and everywhere else is missing something to a degree.
  22. I don't know if you'll have tried this yet but Reggaebass makes a good point - it might be worth tightening the screws/washers that hold the gearing in place on the machine heads - I've had these come loose on Fender-type basses with resulting rattle. I'd also agree with Lozz196 re: break angle - just pressing down on the string behind the nut might reveal the cause of the rattle (though it sounds more like a loose component to me). I hope you get it sorted - really frustrating!
  23. Don’t…I’m still McGiver’ing a plan. Currently sat at £500 😆
  24. GLWTS, I love mine for all the reasons you mention. Someone will be very happy with this and at a great price.
  25. Awesome entry level pedals up for grabs. Sonicake Octaver - a surprisingly good Boss OC2 clone, and an Amoon true bypass tuner. The tuner can emit a slight high pitched whine when in use but of course it's totally silent when off (True bypass) Both pedals in excellent condition, £25 for both!

  26. I have an Alto TS312S and use it with a pair of Alto TS312s. I have used this system in a pretty large pub and the sound was excellent and crystal clear. We keep the stage volume down and put most things through the PA (including bass) to help achieve that. That's the TS as opposed to the TX. This is not the current range so Ebay may well help you out here.
