  3. I have a coffee burst 734 and it's a great colour, even better in real life, but there's just something special about the new red and green ones. Classic vintage BB colours.
  4. I think your spot on Tony
  5. From the clips up on YouTube from recent gigs poor Bruce doesn’t look in good shape at all, even his playing seems a tad laboured and lacking intensity.
  6. I bought it on a whim to be honest. I am not too bothered about it losing value as it’s no different in that regard than any other bass I have ever bought, there are some things that need addressing though which hopefully won’t compromise the originality. Cheers.
  7. It’s not ‘minty fresh’ and does have some wear which gives it character. It’s fair to say that I’m not too bothered about the value aspect, but I would like to cure the earthing issue and sort out the noisy pots.
  8. And mine….triplets? 😉
  9. Legendary octave pedal in highly desirable relic’d finish 😉. Works fine, just looks knackered, much like myself. Born in Japan, May 1985 (the pedal, not me). Free UK postage. Cheers! Sam.

  10. I've got of these too. Neck dive for sure with any almost all T-Bird inspired shapes, but I moved the strap button to neck heel and it's about 75% better. I've also been tinkering with it, rewired pickups to single coil (lower neck coil and upper bridge coil) and it's much more J bass now.
  11. The value in an old Fender bass is its originality. They’re not prized for their weight, built quality or playability. That’s the vintage market distilled into two sentences. If you want a vintage Precision, keep the lovely one you have. If you want a durable, versatile and lightweight bass that will perform for the long term, I’d buy a modern Fender Pro series bass. If you start changing bits it’s not original and the value will lower, in some cases, significantly.
  12. Oooo I like that. I regret selling my 734A, such a great bass. I’m glad I’m back in the Yamaha club now I’ve got a 1024x.
  13. The similarity to Geddy Lee is only that the bass is prominent in the mix and very melodic, while sometimes 'busy'. Fortunately. Bruce was very influential on my own playing and inspired me to use Rickenbacker basses.
  14. I find it hard to make chart like this settle when the tempo is so fierce. The difference between two sixteenth notes is tiny and easy to flunk.
  15. Looks like LaBella flats, Brian. GLWYS. 😊
  16. This has inspired me to alter that well known country music couple: Johnny Rash & June Farter
  17. Many, many bass manufacturers give no thought to their instruments' user interface, and sadly Dingwall are no exception. Congratulations on solving a problem that Dingwall couldn't be arsed to solve for themselves 👍🙂

I’m very sad to hear about Sam’s passing. She was always the voice of reason and compassion. We exchanged a few messages and she seemed like such a genuinely lovely and caring person. Terrible news, and my thoughts go to her friends and family.
  19. That's a very cool looking 4003, @Clarky! Good price too... GLWTS 👍😊
  20. Mines twin
  21. Beautiful looking bass, Brian! That really is a fabulous, dark rosewood fretboard too... GLWTS 👍😊

  24. It’s a Hipshot BT7 on the Ida bass Sandberg told me to install a D tuner it requires drilling extra holes. The BT7 resembles our design the closest Bass Direct said Sandberg tuners are a specific size and Hipshot don't offer a direct replacement. The Ida Nielsen bass from Sandberg uses an extender and its a BT7
