As a teenager, my mum took my friend and I down to the Marshall factory for a tour. An experience that I will never forget as a wide eyed and impressionable young Dood! Jim may have been in that day but we didn't get to meet him (although I did get to meet him on numerous other occasions at guitar shows, so much so that he remembered my name!) On the tour, back then, Marshall number 1 wasnt in a glass case and Production Manager (i think) Steve Yelding dumped it in my lap whilst we were rummaging through the piles of amplifers I could only ever dream of owning. A surreal moment, but there was an inevitability that I'd end up with an old Marshall amp at some point. I have a 68-69 Super Bass that makes all the right noises!

Cool response. Yes, I would genuinely be interested to hear that. I've fallen far enough down the Spector rabbithole that I'm all into the tonechasing of that classic Spector sound. Woods, preamps, pickups, build etc...obsessing over nuances. You start thinking 6K is fair and reasonable to get exactly what you want...

I've tried a few that were good at adding eq, drive etc but seemed pretty transparent in themselves. I want something which adds a bit of warmth and solidity ideally, but just interested to hear people's experiences about what's out there.

I'm selling an AllParts loaded Jazz bass body, which I had imported from the US for a bass build that I've lost interest in since deciding to keep my JMJ Mustang. The price includes UK postage. It has an AllParts tort pickguard, which came with the body. The hardware is all new and purchased from the UK, which includes: a nickel control plate, CTS pots, a Gotoh neck plate and strap buttons, and a Hisco vintage bridge. It's in excellent condition, as seen in the pictures. I also have a set og Aguilar 4J-HC jazz pickups for sale, which I'm happy to solder in if they are bought with the body. Thanks for looking! -
I always get Anxiety when i courier. Which is why i pack extremely well and pay for Am delivery next day. Id need to sell my stingray though, ive a 4HH with a rosewood board (i want a maple) ive a potential local buyer, but not worth doing if you wont post. An extra £130 isnt doable, nor a 10+ hour round trip. -
Maybe a little known fact, but the Marshall factory (Milton Keynes, Bucks) has a small 'museum' of amps, guitars etc in and around reception. Although it is primarily for the guitar nerds, in amongst the Les Pauls and Bluesman amps are a few pieces of Bass memorabilia, with pride of place going to the irredeemably individual Lemmy.

Up for sale is my Ibanez BTB400QM, finished in Blackberry. A really nice to play 35" scale, 18v active four stringer. These sound much better balanced than the SR series preamps. A huge sonorous sounding bass with plenty of character. Some slight dings here and there, but overall a nice bass for around 20 years old. One of the strap buttons has been screwed into a new hole by a previous owner, but that can easily be filled/covered up. Electrics all work properly and action is nice and low. An old Warwick gigbag will be thrown in with the sale. Payment via cash our direct bank transfer on collection. Can deliver or meet half way, up to a reasonable 75 miles from DE7. -

Awesome entry level pedals up for grabs. Sonicake Octaver - a surprisingly good Boss OC2 clone, and an Amoon true bypass tuner. The tuner can emit a slight high pitched whine when in use but of course it's totally silent when off (True bypass) Both pedals in excellent condition, £25 for both!-

I have a Harley Benton Powerbank+ mark 2 which has one output that can be set to 18V. I don't know if it's linear or switching (how do you tell?) but there is no wall wart, it's a battery. It has enough power to drive my DHA VT1s.
