Just seen this: https://bassbros.co.uk/product/1969-fender-jazz-bass-3/ Neck doesn’t look right to me. Date stamp is far too clear and little to no colouration on the headstock. All the vintage Fenders I’ve had have a beautiful orange glow to them. Not suggesting it’s a fake (I’m implying it could be).

We've got a rehearsal tomorrow night so I'll give it a go. 80-90% of the time will be on the vintage channel, but we've got a couple of rockier ones that I may try using the overdrive channel

Bloodstone Guitarworks Herrick Pickups. Fletcher Pickups. Armstrong Pickups. Fife Pickups. There's also a lad called Martin Harmer, I've an alnico 2 spilt coil from him along with a 51 alnico 2 single coil and a pair of 51 singles for a Tele jazz bass. For the latter Martin cut me custom bobbins to match my string spacing at neck/bridge positions, wound the bridge pickup hotter (to hold it's own against the neck position) and RWRP for hum-cancelling. Turnaround for the pair was 1 week and they were under £100 with postage.

It is a commercial (Fuzzdog) PCB, and yes the same works perfectly on the breadboard which I still have around for audioprobing and multimeter testing purposes. Visual inspection does not show bad solder joints, so might be lurking under a solder blob, if that's that. I'll also do comparative voltage measurements between the breadboard and the PCB, just had no time yet.

I’ve just sent an email too - I’ve only received up to issue 11, I’ve had 15 PayPal payments taken, never received the strings or a reply to my email chasing them up 😕 I used the online form on the website to get in contact - did anyone have more luck using a different way to get a reply?

Modulus BassStar SP24 1989 For sale is my beautiful Modulus Bassstar with Koa body. These are pretty rare. The bass has been used a lot, which shows. The body has a lot of wear, small damages and usermarks. The neck is in good condition. All hardware and electronics (vol, pickup select, bass/treble) work like they should. Playability is good. It’s quite a light instrument with its 3,8kg. Fixed low price €1550 I am located in the Netherlands. Pickup is preferred, but I could ship anywhere at buyers risk and expense.

I don't have children but the summer before last drove from Cardiff to Bangor. I had all day, took my time, drove up through the Brecon Beacons and Snowdonia national parks. Probably the nicest drive I have done in the UK, especially as the next morning I went along the north coast back into England.

I saw a Pink Floyd tribute act years ago called Ummagumma. They played songs exclusively from pre-Dark Side of the Moon Floyd albums. Therefore, no Money, Wish you were Here or Comfortably Numb, but everything from Live at Pompeii except that song where they wheel out a dog. 8/10 for authenticity.

is it your own PCB or a commercial one? And am I understanding you built it on a breadboard first and it worked fine ?

Mandela effect… ha. See what I did there. i used one of these years ago and recall a certain sound it did. I’m not sure it does it 🫣

Boss Tera Echo 2! The weirdo digital reverb. I thought this will be useful mostly when I want to record some spacey guitar backing track for myself, or drone around. I was wrong, welcome to the board, Mr Always On! If I turn the effect volume down a bit, then set feedback and spread time to minimum, it just adds a very nice "body" to the sound by adding just a tiny bit of roomy reverb. It just makes the notes sound more exciting. CAN'T TURN IT OFF NOW!

I am trying to build a 3band RAT, and I messed up my 2nd build as well, even though I managed to get it work on a breadboard. I am using an audio scope to find where the PCB starts to differ from the breadboard. I found that leg 7 of the OP07 reacts to distortion in a weird way (clean when down, SUDDENLY overdistorts at a certain point, despite the linear A100k pot). However leg 7 is the V+ leg of the IC, not for the audio signal. Do I likely have a problem with the power section of the circuit? As I'm extremely surprised I found the overdistortion issue on this specific leg... It's not an output and is not directly connected to the DIST

Sorry, managed to miss this, yes that’s what I’ve heard….my electronics knowledge leaves a bit to be desired as far as spotting those things go…I should read a book!! More an enthusiast than anything. Does this look about right? Cheers Si
