Behringer announce Bass Brassmaster Fuzz, err, tribute!
Cosmo Valdemar replied to fretmeister's topic in Effects
Just got mine! Got lucky with one for sale on here. It's an excellent Brassmaster, a touch smoother than the homemade clones I already own, which are a bit more spluttery and unpredictable. That said it's still a wild roaring beast! I'm very pleased indeed. -

Yes, but it’s a lot softer than the original 808 buffer circuit

Holy fudge ripple... So dang glad I got mine.

Only got this sorted lunchtime today...

It's Oh So Quiet - Bjork

Stays in tune no matter what temp or weather. No need for a trussrod. Soundwise, can of worms. I am playing an MG Genesis, a Vigier Passion II (carbon part reaches the neck pickup), a Status MM neck bass, a Status headless copy, and I used to play an MG Quantum 5 SPi. What I like in the graphite is its stability. Neck profiles are different, but all basses stay in tune very well.

So I've got the amp at the shop, dude's taking his time because I was clear I'm not in a hurry, all's well. I'm getting the sleeve shaped up, but I neglected to get the dimensions of the casing for the UV light. Anyone happen to know how high that dimension is? I want to do a back-cut at the front, as you might see in the later models... And so I can see the controls (the reason for it I guess) when it's sitting on a half-stack, single cabinet. It won't be exactly to spec, but it'll do the thing. I just want to do the cut without exposing the end of the UV case... Thanks. 🙂

I had a bb1600, the 414 gets close - just doesn’t feel as special… similar sound quality though.

I absolutely love Thomastik rounds, got these 2nd hand here. Supple, smooth and very toneful. They're listed as medium scale, but fit 30" very happily. Unfortunately, the E string is noticeably duller than the others. If you can cope with that, these might be just the thing for you (!). Price includes postage. Cheers.

More mystery; I know they're D'Addario, but that's it. Can't remember how I came by them, but I'm not a fan of roundwounds, unless they're Thomastiks, so here they are for sale. Not heavily used. They've been on a 2 a side bass, but judging from the winds on the G, I think they were cut for 4 inline. Price includes postage. Cheers.

I'm a huge fan of Thomastik strings, rounds and flats. Low tension, so supple, and great tone. I'm not sure how I've accumulated so many sets, but the descriptions below might shed some light: 1. Single B string, in great shape. £15, but can combine it with one of the other sets. 2. 4 string set, cut 4 inline, BUT with a busted G strings (cue sniggers). The G seems to be a weak point with these rounds, as it's happened to me more than once. Not whilst playing, but when putting on different basses. The string retainer on a Fender style headstock seems to wear/expose the core... £20 posted. (Also, the A has an exposed core) 3. Same as above - 4 string, 4 inline, but another busted G! £20 posted. 4. Another 'slight seconds' - this time the G is just shorter. Cut for 4 inline, the G has some silk on it, but would only reach a 2 a side G tuner. £25 posted. I'll number the pics, which should help. Cheers.

Great gig bag for two basses. Or, as I did for one festival, one bass and my clothes 🤓 I’ve owned it for about 7 or 8 years now I think, but it still in very good condition. I might me able to cobble together some form of packing for UK mainland delivery (at a small extra cost) but collection would be preferred.
