  1. Past hour
  2. Just remembered there’s one for sale on here.
  3. If your’re happy in short scale but want wider string spacing then the. Gibson EB2/ Epiphone Rivoli semis are precisely that. Admittedly the originals are rather pricey but Epi did a reissue that sell 2nd hand for reasonable money. They have the thump in bucket loads.
  4. Our drummer went to that and enjoyed it.
  5. Kerosene. Big black
  6. Class act. Thanks for sharing.
  7. I’ll consider a reasonable offer on this. I could really do with selling this (and a few other things) as I’ve been signed off with stress due to my son’s mental health issues and will go onto half pay at the end of next month due to having already had so much time off for cancer treatments! It’s forcing me to take a hard look at my gear.
  8. Aye, quite reliant on the other bass player standing behind ‘Paul Wellers’ amp. He didn’t play everything but you could see him picking up bits. Plus shaking a tambourine with the left hand and fretting with the right. Was all a bit sad. I can totally understand that Bruce has spent his life on stage so must be very hard to stop.
  9. Burn The Evidence - Billy Talent
  10. I have a coffee burst 734 and it's a great colour, even better in real life, but there's just something special about the new red and green ones. Classic vintage BB colours.
  11. I think your spot on Tony
  12. From the clips up on YouTube from recent gigs poor Bruce doesn’t look in good shape at all, even his playing seems a tad laboured and lacking intensity.
  13. I bought it on a whim to be honest. I am not too bothered about it losing value as it’s no different in that regard than any other bass I have ever bought, there are some things that need addressing though which hopefully won’t compromise the originality. Cheers.
  14. It’s not ‘minty fresh’ and does have some wear which gives it character. It’s fair to say that I’m not too bothered about the value aspect, but I would like to cure the earthing issue and sort out the noisy pots.
  15. And mine….triplets? 😉
  16. Legendary octave pedal in highly desirable relic’d finish 😉. Works fine, just looks knackered, much like myself. Born in Japan, May 1985 (the pedal, not me). Free UK postage. Cheers! Sam.

  17. I've got of these too. Neck dive for sure with any almost all T-Bird inspired shapes, but I moved the strap button to neck heel and it's about 75% better. I've also been tinkering with it, rewired pickups to single coil (lower neck coil and upper bridge coil) and it's much more J bass now.
  18. The value in an old Fender bass is its originality. They’re not prized for their weight, built quality or playability. That’s the vintage market distilled into two sentences. If you want a vintage Precision, keep the lovely one you have. If you want a durable, versatile and lightweight bass that will perform for the long term, I’d buy a modern Fender Pro series bass. If you start changing bits it’s not original and the value will lower, in some cases, significantly.
  19. Oooo I like that. I regret selling my 734A, such a great bass. I’m glad I’m back in the Yamaha club now I’ve got a 1024x.
  20. The similarity to Geddy Lee is only that the bass is prominent in the mix and very melodic, while sometimes 'busy'. Fortunately. Bruce was very influential on my own playing and inspired me to use Rickenbacker basses.
  21. I find it hard to make chart like this settle when the tempo is so fierce. The difference between two sixteenth notes is tiny and easy to flunk.
  22. Looks like LaBella flats, Brian. GLWYS. 😊
