  2. May consider part trades, particular something Stingray ish, 4ohm 2x10”, class D bass amp that does 2 ohms, John East Uni pre, lightweight basses.
  3. That's a shame and puts you in a difficult position. Audience feedback sounds like the only thing that might make a difference but that's awkward, you can hardly canvas the crowd on the night like a focus group.
  4. Same, its a real cracker Custom Sandberg and light, whats not to like. I'm confident any buyer will be extremely happy. Kept me GAS free for 5 strings and for 5 years too, which is a miracle by my GAS standards 😂
  5. Yes still available and about 9.5 lbs.
  6. I agree but the trouble is, matey will hear the guitar-and-kick-drum-heavy mix and say ‘Yeah, nothing wrong with that!’
  7. Whassat, then..?. 🤔
  8. Done the thrust bearing mod yet?
  9. Just a quickie 😁 Could I send out a monitor mix from my mixer using the control room connection?
  10. I'm a drummer as well as a bassist and I absolutely hate the hand grenade kick sound out of the PA. So, I'm that band member that does the sound engineering at gigs.... but only because no one else wants to do it. I hate juggling bass/drum duties with mixing, it takes my focus away from playing but hey, what can you do hire a sound guy, like we can afford that. Anyway, one way to do deal with it, and what we do, is record the gig. I do it two fold, from the desk and with a field recorder in the room to get the audience perspective. As a band we play it back to analyse our performance and see what needs tweaking, that includes the PA mix which the band are quite particular about.

  12. I am looking for an Eastman Mandolin, and Richard's Guitars seems to be the only UK shop with the full range of instruments in stock. Four hours on the train, but nevertheless on my "must visit" list.
  13. I had mine made as I wouldn't want to do such things myself. Refinishing is too much of the same thing over and over, apply clear coat, sand, repeat, and I'm not good in those.
  14. And their tribute act, the Sugar Tax Babes.
  15. Thanks and good idea. Problem is, I am not really into neck shaving and refin. However, if someone knows someone who can do it, then it could be an option.
  16. The middle wenge neck one on the white bass is particularly attractive IMO. Can I ask whether you felt they were noticeably different in weight to maple? And have you done any finishing on that one?
  17. One of my fav albums, along with Bright Size Life and certainly my preferred Jacob period. Sounds like a really interesting band, will definitely have to check them out.
  18. That's pretty rad!
  19. Embrace the last 40 years and keep it active.
  20. Yeah - he’s sort of on and off, he’s plenty busy. email him now - mine got posted off today, happy for him to template from mine
  21. Hi, I've just changed all of my current cymbals to Meinl Custom Classic Darks, so I'm now looking to sell all of the cymbals that were on my kit before the Meinl's came along! This is a full comprehensive set of cymbals that all sound superb. All have been used, some are older than others but all are in great condition and have no cracks anywhere. You can see the Sabian Pro Ride and the Zildjian Avedis Crash logos are faded a little, but this doesn't in any way impact the sound quality. All in, to buy these new would have cost you somewhere around £1200. The cymbals included are all listed below, I'll also throw in a decent quality Cymbal gig bag so they can all be carried away easily! Zildjian ZXT 14" Hi-Hats Paiste PST5 16" Thin Crash Zildjian Avedis 16" Crash Meinl HCS 10" Splash Istanbul Agop Xist 18" Crash Paiste 101 18" Crash Sabian Pro 20" Ride Paiste PST8 18" Rock China Collection from Wickford, Essex would be ideal, but I can probably post them if needed for around £20 as I have some spare bubble wrap and a box I can send them in - as well as them being in the cymbal bag.

  22. I've been using its predecessor, the Tecamp Puma 900, for many years. Very happy with it. And it has options for colouring the tone or just leaving it uncoloured.
  23. Today
  24. I didn't regret selling any bass. Some were good basses, and some weren't, but they were all sold because they were replaced by something better.
  25. You can get that weight with non destroyed wood. When you think you've read and seen all, someone is there right the next corner waiting with his bullshìt marketing. Next one will be totally rotten wood falling apart glued with punks' spittings? That said, I'm on the tonewood side, but when stupidity hits the target, all I can do is 🤦🏻
  26. The list updated with recent changes. OK that's weird. There are none of the changes in that quote
