That's my take on it. The "Growl" knob is the "pokey/synthy" type of octave, the "Girth" is the more organic "fat/sub" kind of octave. Really useful having them on separate knobs and being able to fine tune the amount of each. The Aguilar Octamizer does the same kind of thing, but they are combined onto one knob as a "filter" that goes from subby and fat, to more synthy and pokey as you dial it up. Both pedals are fantastic, and I really like the mid boost switch on the MXR. I went for the Aguilar and love it so much I bought a second one, like Steve said, for being able to have blended and sub only options at my feet without having to change settings.

Aguilar TLC Bass Compressor Pedal Description from Aguilar: The TLC Compressor is designed to give musicians the ability to control their dynamics in a flexible and musical way, making it an invaluable musical tool for both recording and live use. Our proprietary Trans Linear Control (TLC) circuit enables you to achieve unprecedented levels of performance, usually found only in expensive studio compressors. Using a wide range of attack times (10ms to 100ms), variable threshold (-30 to -10 dBu), and slope levels (2:1 to infinity), you'll be able to dial in just the right sound. The TLC has a Full Spectrum Tilt EQ for Clean sound and a low distortion at <.2%. *Pedal powered by universal 9-volt power supply or 9v battery. Not included. The condition is reasonably good, and I have tried to show any scratches and marks in the photos. I have also marked my settings with a black marker pen. I don’t have the original box, but I will make sure it is well packed and safe. £135 £5 p&p

Anyone bought a cheap (Chinese) neck off eBay?
police squad replied to NancyJohnson's topic in Bass Guitars
I have 3 now 1 from ebay 2 from Aliexpress the ebay one is attached to a Bravewood body and sounds amazing. It may need a fret level, I'm off on a course to do fret levelling the Aliexpress one, tinted laquer and 70s logo, plays superb. Attached to a random P bass body and it all works as it should you should be fine mate -

Yes, my 1980s Squier JV Jazz, which is a similar vintage to the OP's Fender, and a copy of a 60s bass, is wired the same. I reckon Leo figured it wouldn't matter with the giant ashtray over the top hiding it. EDIT - mine is the same size and look as Clarky's original example, not as wide and shiny as the OPs.

It maybe be I have to spend more time with it 😅

The Jam Night I usually go to has moved back to its original venue (McCafferty’s in Epsom). We weren’t really able to attract a following at what was the new venue - various reasons I guess. Certainly there was never much of an atmosphere there. I think the original venue probably saw their takings drop by more than they were paying the band and certainly by more than the £50 pay cut they were trying to get the band to take. I’m pleased we’ve moved back as McCafferty’s is a much better music venue (and it’s walking distance from my house 😀). It’s a while since we’ve had anyone take any video of us. My daughter who was the main videographer has moved to Derby. My wife didn’t attend the new venue as often. Anyway back to the old venue so my wife came, and a mate and his wife came for the 1st time. They both took some video. We played ok, without nailing any of the songs. As it’s the 1st one back at McCafferty’s I decided on a compilation video.

This is as hard-hitting as Lucinda’s songs, and to be frank it’s a wee bit too honest. But that makes it compelling reading, so if you like her music it’s a solid investment. If you don’t know who she is, consult YouTube immediately… Hardback, very good condition. RRP £20, yours for £13 posted. Now just £11.

Behringer Shark DSP110 - Feedback Destroyer, Compressor, Mic Preamp, filter, noise gate, delay line. Bought this from ebay to fix a feedback problem at the church a few years ago, managed to fix the problem another way before it arrived and then never got around to using it. Found it when clearing a box of cables. Comes with the power supply and manual. Looks to have been well used. Reduced to £25 plus post or make me an offer. Thanks Andy ]
