I love the amps and cabs. The 410HL is an awesome cab too.

That could be one of the most hilariously inaccurate things I've ever read. Pino never sounded anything like Entwistle. Ever. Pino is brilliant as a fusion player but as a rock player? Nope. His tone is way too smooth for that band. Don't even get me started on Jon "iced gem hair" Button. He plays even more sparsely than Pino did. Which just doesn't work. The band died in 2002 with Entwistle.

bassofdeath started following Spector fans!?!

I don't know the specifics. I've spoken to a few folk. From what I gather it's the difference between a factory and a workshop. The handmade touch and attention to detail. As to what those techniques are, I ain't no luthier. But even then, the level of nuance may extend all the way down to the specific piece of wood it's carved from. One piece of maple is not identical to another piece of maple. A couple of weeks ago I played four spectors and recorded them badly on my phone. All felt like they belonged in the same family but they were not twins. And the US instruments just felt different in the hands to the Euro ones. The growl seemed to sit in a slightly higher frequency of mid and the resonance was stronger. Relatives. Not twins. Not even little brothers. Close cousins I'd say.

Thanks! Just hope the ears don't disagree 😅

Wow that's much higher stakes than our home studio! Really nice bass line, can see why the fretless was the only one for that song. Going to have to pick up a chorus pedal now (and maybe some post-its)!
-
That’s what I do too! It’s great, but I re bought a hx stomp - and while the h9 sounds nicer and fits together nicely with midi it seems overkill!

Wolverinebass started following The Who sack Zak Starkey
-
Entwistle hadn't used an Alembic onstage with the Who since Live Aid in 1985. The 89 tour he played Warwick Buzzards (which are ironically even heavier) and from 1996 he played Status Buzzards which weigh nothing as they're a one piece graphite mould.

Fender American Performer Mustang Bass Gorgeous satin surf green bass with rosewood board, super comfy short scale neck and Mustang and Jazz pickup configuration. It’s a nice light weight and beautifully balanced. A couple of dings as can be seen on the pics. Through body strung and sounds and plays great. Only selling as I have two of them and my Musicman isn’t moving. This bass comes with a Fender gig bag and tags/certificate and Allen keys. Excellent condition. They are around £1100 new so grab a bargain. Pickup preferred. Delivery in the UK will be £25ish. Sorry no trades. (Pics from original sale I’ll update when there’s better light).

RichT started following CLEANING COATED STRINGS
-
And be wary of even using a damp cloth to wipe Elixirs down. When I tried that once it made the coating feel sticky, took days of playing to start feeling normal again. You actually don't need to clean them.
-
So, they’ve released a new Treble pickup.
-
Tomastik's fitted. I'm in love with it again. Managed to capture the actual colour quite well in this photo tonight. It's normally not as easy

How're you getting on with it? What do you play it through?

Here we have a Ibanez SGDR Prestige 3006, Satin Oil finish. Made in Japan w/Bartolini pickups. These basses boast a fantastic build quality and sound superb, the prestige stuff by Ibanez goes above and beyond especially the earlier Japanese stuff The bass has signs of minor play wear that I've included in the pictures. The electronics are dead quiet, however the Bass eq has recently stopped boosting or cutting (ive been quoted £20 to fix this issue) Setup professionally and strung with Elixir strings. Looking for a straight sale please, no trades.

PS thanks for buying the book guys. It's appreciated. As are the comments.
-
I meant the real one!
-
I am 9 chapters into the next one so shouldn't be too long a wait. Very different as I have the full cooperation of the artist themselves this time. So much more satisfying.

Hellzero started following Marshall Music Factory - Lemmy

It's Lemmy's Rickenbacker signature model.

I think anything new from Hartke is worth investigating, it's a brand with huge history and reputation.

Looking for "Crunchy" pedals/effects: Need recommendations!
Cosmo Valdemar replied to B-dawg's topic in Effects
This is an impossible question to answer. There are so many variations of drive available, from farty pushed amp sounds to modern Darkglass barbed wire clank. And you'll get a million different opinions. Tell us what gear you currently use and post a YouTube video of the type of thing you're after and we'll better know what to suggest! -
