  2. I'm sure most people know all about these but if not... It's a 200 W at 4 ohms / 130 W at 8 ohms pocket amp in VGC, lightly used having served as a backup and for the odd rehearsal. Fits in your gig bag and whilst great for insurance, it's actually a really great little amp with power that belies it's diminutive size. Many appreciative mentions on this site. Price includes postage.

  3. The subtle, non-confrontational approach then.....😁
  4. If there was a demonstratable likeness to any Muppet character, one would have to argue one's case against a battery of highfaluting Disney lawyers with deep pockets. Whether one wins or not could be independent of the rights or wrongs of the case, just the finances engaged. Such is Justice in these realms.
  5. If your ever in the USA (I don't know why you would want to be) hit me up.

  8. Quite the claim. I think you should tell us what band you are in. I'd be keen to see the best sounding band ever
  9. Ah - the word muppet (I was thinking about the tech)... I hadn't realised it was that old, but the term, "marionette" + "puppet", was first used by Jim Henson in 1955. The point does bring up an interesting question, though: if the developers of the system don't code in the word "muppet" and the request is to "draw me like a puppet", where is the infringement?

  11. Having owned my XR18 for just over ten years, mixing from the side of the stage whilst playing, last night was a first for me as I went out as a sound guy, working for a mates band who had just bought their own XR18 (albeit v2). So before the gig, I created a new scene file on my XR with all the basic settings I could pre-gig (channel layout, hpf’s, global effects, stereo combinator etc and then took my Surface Go to the gig with the scene file loaded and simply transferred the scene to the their XR. I did update my firmware and X-Air Edit to the latest versions first so there were no difficulties between the v1 and v2 hardware and all worked perfectly. Being able to sit with a live band going for it really taught me a lot about my mix, particularly around eq’ing. Making space for each instrument is vital, and gating all those horrible open drum mics is essential to stop your whole mix becoming a mud bath. I really enjoyed the experience and the only complaint was they were too loud 😎 I also managed to multi-track record about 75% of the gig for them so will have fun over the coming days mixing that lot down. Interestingly, they were using a TP Link router with both 5GHz and 2.4GHz channels. I was using the 5GHz channel for the Surface Go, but my old 2012 MacBook that I was using as a back-up and to do the recording was connected on the 2.4GHz channel. The Surface Go suffered three drop outs over the course of the night whereas the MacBook stayed connected throughout the whole evening. The venue POS system was running on a 5GHz network albeit separate channel but I guess this was the culprit.
  12. The term 'Muppet' is owned by Disney and/or Henson, and anything that resembles any Muppet character could be subject to litigation.
  13. Not what I would choose for myself, but when you mentioned uncoloured power with good eq options this is what came to mind. I’ve only played with one once and it had a great, detailed sound.

  17. So I was cleaning out my old parts bin, and found a set of flats (that I can't recall buying or owning) in a ziplock bag, and I was hoping somebody here could maybe identify them by the silks and ball ends. They have red silks at both bridge and headstock ends, and the ball ends are Silver on the E, Green on the A, Black on teh D, and Bronze on the G. Thanks in advance.
  18. I’m actually noticing that more venues are providing house amps & cabs lately. They’re usually 100 or so watt combos but given all it is is for stage volumes they’re plenty sufficient, band can hear on stage, and sound person doesn’t have to fight against stack volumes. This of course venues on originals circuits.
  19. Good question, I never played well if I was drinking, but a friend of mine plays really good after a drink, I think it relaxes him, it’s no 🥃 for me but lots of reggae
  20. No, they're not. In fact, the smaller the venue the more the need for IEMs. Amps muddy the sound in small venues. I've had sound techs tell me they had to take me out of the mix all together. And I was just running a 212. ONE! 212. Amps are fun. I get that. But if you want quality sound at an event. No. They are a liability. And your overall sound suffers. Play what you want. But my ears haven't rung in 3 years. And spectators tell us we're the best sounding band they have ever heard. Amps are cool but ignorance will make you deaf.
  21. Glad to hear it. It would be worth amending the title of your wanted ad to reflect this and to avoid someone else tagging or contacting you regarding a future listing.
