I hope it works out, but...subs have to be considerably larger than mains, which means heavier, for the same reason that basses have longer necks and larger strings than guitars. Otherwise we'd use guitars tuned an octave lower.

Tube power stage vs Class-D (effective power)
Bill Fitzmaurice replied to Paddy Morris's topic in Amps and Cabs
I paid $350 for my '65 Bassman. That was the average monthly wage at that time in the US. I paid the same for my '65 Jazz Bass. -
I didn't take a pic but Amber's new bridge (not pictured below) weighed in at 188g. I've amended the calculations to reflect that. It's all installed now and she still rocks. No A/B comparison as I changed the strings, polished the frets with the FRTLZR up to 7000 grade (lovely job, I'd I say so myself), detuned and set up to Eb Standard with EXL170 Balanced Tension strings to a nice low but not-too-low action. She's pure gig rig now and really sweet.

Am a little shocked by this news. Very sad. 😞

Too much boom boom drums, we’ll sack the monitor/IEM engineer. Too much overplaying, Rog, it’s The Who, you used to have Moon The Loon on the sticks!

Very sad news indeed, Sam was one of the first BC'ers to welcome me and always took the time to help me out. A very sad loss indeed. Bless you, Sam xx -

Why does Scott Devine hate Sadowsky basses?

I've spent a bit of time in Montana over the years (it's beautiful). I used to think there were lots of gays there, until I realised they were real cowboys. I went to a wild party after a gig in Missoula back in the 1980s and all I can say is the locals were anything but conservative. -

He was a properly good bloke and really down to earth when he came to the last SE Bass Bash - and absolutely hilarious. How many players of his stature would leave his original Betsy and the Spector he used to record Like a Prayer sitting on stage after his talk and say, “I’ll just leave those there if anyone wants to have a go on them…”? Barry Moorhouse brought a range of his Bass Collection basses to try out and I can confirm that the Betsy copies are really, really nice. Properly tempted. Enjoy it! I’m not the slightest bit jealous, honest!

I saw them with Fish twice, back in the 80s, including the epic Reading '83 set. Then on my birthday in 2021, with Steve Hogarth. I was given the ticket as a present and thoroughly enjoyed it.

All of these bands should have packed it in decades ago. Surely they could pass an Act of Parliament or something. How long can the agony be allowed to continue? It's like watching a geriatric Arthur Askey break his hip trying to disco dance for the amusement of his fellow care home residents. Would be nice if they replaced Zak with Dr David Starkey, right-wing constitutional historian. I don't think he can play the drums ( that would probably Daltrey fine) but he could give the audience some very insightful observations about the cultural context of songs like My Generation and Won't Get Fooled Again while Roger and Pete have their Tena pants changed during the interval.

Welcome along. I think the golden rule is that, when it comes to bass purchases, minimum disclosure applies. It's certainly keep me breathing.

Yep, I think when a rock singer stops a song live on stage to moan about the drummer being too load it's long past the time to hang up the mic and find a decent sitcom that'll have to (sounds like he'd make a decent Victor Meldrew?). And re Daltrey not being the main writer, when you listen to Townshend's demos for the early 70's stuff - specifically Quadrophenia and Who's Next - you can't escape the sense that in many of those great songs Townshend's vocals are at least the equal of Daltrey's also....

Just out of interest to anyone with a brass bridge......... have you ever had a go at removing the green oxidation from hardware? I'll have to check with the owner first and don't want to make it too shiny, but it is a bit grubby

I've got a Harley Benton Mini GS Bass (Taylor copy), arriving tomorrow. Looked at the Taylor & Guild models which look absolutely great but opted for the cheapy HB to try it out firstly…my first HB venture too.

I knew you could change the loop order but can you also do parallel routing with the ML10x? 👀 UPDATE: did some reading and you can split and merge on the ML10x but not the ML5R
