  1. Past hour
  2. yeah, I saw that but the guy already got a Newt instead. Thanks for the heads up thoug
  3. Quack magic woman - Santana
  4. Tariffs mean you pay more for the items and so you're really fining yourself. Choosing not to buy the items is a zero-cost approach.
  5. I'd rather my money stayed in the UK, Europe, or went to Canada or the far east than to the US. Whenever there's talk of targeted tariffs against the US, they tend to mention whiskey and motorcycles, and I often wonder why they don't also include musical instruments and associated gear.
  6. Are you factoring in shipping, vat and duty?
  7. I bought a copy of the remastered version on CD a couple of years ago, but having been brought up on the original vinyl found it too processed - I ended up buying a 'first edition' CD pressing which pretty much came straight off the vinyl masters instead.......
  8. Bought a Barefaced Twin from @Paddy544... looked after it for me for a few months and delivered it to my soundcheck when i was nearby. Kept me reassured the whole time and was delightful company. Big Recommend!
  9. Wishing I Was Duckie - Wet Wet Wet
  10. I wonder if it's the same red finish as the BBPH. I'd assume so as that is the same deep red indoors/bright red outdoors kind of difficult to photograph finish.
  11. Down to lighting I would think. Previous pic was in daylight. These two are under artificial light.
  12. Mine looks almost browny/purple in the picture I posted, but it looks a very bright red in yours! ☝️ It’s definitely lighter IRL than the pic I posted tho, as long as I avoided the Matt black I was happy - I’d have owned one ages ago but I reneged on the deal cos I didn’t want Matt black. It was more for the fact it’d end up looking minging at gigs with all the sweat etc, I just couldn’t keep it looking good in a Matt finish and I don’t like black basses at the best of times. That Sunburst 434 looks great - if that had the inlays too I wouldn’t know the difference between that and the P34!
  13. Love their gear and @Quatschmacher is a gent!
  14. See 5 and 6 here https://www.basschat.co.uk/faq/
  15. Personally the only thing I will be buying from the US is equities and not until Trump attempts to remove Powell and totally trashes the $ and the stock and bond markets in the process.
  16. A fantastic preamp pedal that, as the name suggests, is based on an Ampeg preamp. This has a 12AX7 tube and runs at 500mA 12V DC. If you haven’t heard of this company, they are well worth checking out. It’s a beautifully engineered machine and I own another two of their products. You can check out the full spec on their website here: https://shift-line.com/flex These rarely come up used. I waited for ages until I found this one. The pedal is in outstanding condition. It comes in the original box with the power adaptor with a couple of interchangeable plugs for different countries. I’m sorely tempted to keep it but I really don’t need 6 preamps and the other 2 tube preamps I own are more the sound I’m after. I also need to shed excess gear as I’m about to get moved onto half pay due to being on long-term sick leave. Price includes next-day mainland UK delivery via Special Delivery. More photos upon request. Nice review video here (though with the caveat that I think he had the pad engaged as the pedal is capable of much more dirt than heard in the video):
  17. I may be interested in a trade for a fretless 4 string oflr a Black and Maple P bass with some cash my way. I'd like to do any trades in person not post. Thanks
  18. I’ve used a Ritter as my main gigging bass for over 10 years now. They are surprisingly resilient and the high gloss finish still looks like new
  19. I have the same as Paddy. Really impressed with the build quality and not too far away at all from a P35 imo
  20. Hi! Anyone selling a Hamer Cruisebass 5 2Tek with the SD pups?
  21. Today
  22. Given the current slide of the $, down over 9% since the end of January, are we approaching a golden age of buying from the US? Obviously you're going to need to factor in shipping/duties, but by way of example if you're in the US A Fender Player II Jazz bass. Guitar Center $800, Andertons £750; at current exchange prices the Guitar Center version at £600.
  23. I’ve owned quite a few of Roger’s basses and I’ve always thought that it was this ability to sit so nicely in a live band mix that makes them special.
