  2. Down to lighting I would think. Previous pic was in daylight. These two are under artificial light.
  3. Mine looks almost browny/purple in the picture I posted, but it looks a very bright red in yours! ☝️ It’s definitely lighter IRL than the pic I posted tho, as long as I avoided the Matt black I was happy - I’d have owned one ages ago but I reneged on the deal cos I didn’t want Matt black. It was more for the fact it’d end up looking minging at gigs with all the sweat etc, I just couldn’t keep it looking good in a Matt finish and I don’t like black basses at the best of times. That Sunburst 434 looks great - if that had the inlays too I wouldn’t know the difference between that and the P34!
  4. Love their gear and @Quatschmacher is a gent!
  5. See 5 and 6 here https://www.basschat.co.uk/faq/
  6. Personally the only thing I will be buying from the US is equities and not until Trump attempts to remove Powell and totally trashes the $ and the stock and bond markets in the process.
  7. A fantastic preamp pedal that, as the name suggests, is based on an Ampeg preamp. This has a 12AX7 tube and runs at 500mA 12V DC. If you haven’t heard of this company, they are well worth checking out. It’s a beautifully engineered machine and I own another two of their products. You can check out the full spec on their website here: https://shift-line.com/flex These rarely come up used. I waited for ages until I found this one. The pedal is in outstanding condition. It comes in the original box with the power adaptor with a couple of interchangeable plugs for different countries. I’m sorely tempted to keep it but I really don’t need 6 preamps and the other 2 tube preamps I own are more the sound I’m after. I also need to shed excess gear as I’m about to get moved onto half pay due to being on long-term sick leave. Price includes next-day mainland UK delivery via Special Delivery. More photos upon request. Nice review video here (though with the caveat that I think he had the pad engaged as the pedal is capable of much more dirt than heard in the video):
  8. I may be interested in a trade for a fretless 4 string oflr a Black and Maple P bass with some cash my way. I'd like to do any trades in person not post. Thanks
  9. I’ve used a Ritter as my main gigging bass for over 10 years now. They are surprisingly resilient and the high gloss finish still looks like new
  10. I have the same as Paddy. Really impressed with the build quality and not too far away at all from a P35 imo
  11. Hi! Anyone selling a Hamer Cruisebass 5 2Tek with the SD pups?
  12. Given the current slide of the $, down over 9% since the end of January, are we approaching a golden age of buying from the US? Obviously you're going to need to factor in shipping/duties, but by way of example if you're in the US A Fender Player II Jazz bass. Guitar Center $800, Andertons £750; at current exchange prices the Guitar Center version at £600.
  13. I’ve owned quite a few of Roger’s basses and I’ve always thought that it was this ability to sit so nicely in a live band mix that makes them special.
  14. So a month on and I've got one of these available again if anyone's interested. The guy who was going to have it has a sudden onset of Quadcortex GAS so is in a selling phase!
  15. Any excuse for this banger!
  16. Yes. It's all working and as it should be.
  17. Hi everyone. Just moving this on at minimal price , kindly donated by Basschatter Lloydy when I bought his Pewter Beauty not long ago. Full working order before Lloydy replaced it - apart from one red lead has now come off the , errrrr, Vol or Blend pot. I include two original larger ( 20mm high 18.3mm diam and 6mm shaft hole ) heavy chrome knobs with new O rings in each. I havent got the full 20 yr service history but the Vol Blend splined pot shafts are 5.85mm outside diam but knobs tighten up OK with allen key. ( The Bass Mid Treb splined shafts are 6.0mm ) The fixed shafts on the board are 32mm centres x 2. The securing nuts and washers are there. Jack socket too. Photo now added. One split shaft crimped up - an ill fitting push on knob I remember - the two allen keyed chrome knobs included are from another BB614 I have ( bought some of those Hipshot lightweight ones from BD - £8 each! ) . So, £30 including UK mainland postage. Apart from seeing one pot is 500k on the photos I can’t help you with any other electronic specs. Cheers. Quent
  18. Hi, These are still for sale ( March 2025 ) I took these tuners off my 2016 Spector NT4 and replaced with Gotoh Gold GB707 , hence photo to show Drop In compatibility. Just home use by myself for a few months ( I bought bass new in 2018) before putting the gold set on. So excellent condition and very little use. They’ve cleaned up as well as the other same size set I’m now selling (£45) on here , just no Spector Logo on these. The diagram dimensions are accurate in the photo. I have digital calipers. Just had to change a couple of dimensions on a Wilkinson open gear diagram. £40 includes UK postage. 2L-2R Weight 238g Cheers. Quent

  20. The Overload isn't quite new. It used to be called the 'Tim' switch on pervious versions. It's been refined in this version, before it was a very subtle difference in the subs. Spencer explains in the instructions that part of the switch's function is because some people want their octaves to sound like one big sound (i.e. the Ampeg Sub Blaster or the DOD Meatbox) and some like to hear the sub octave as distinct from the dry (i.e. OC-2, MXR Octave deluxe). Regarding the usability of the tone, that's very subjective and some will and some won't. I personally won't use it at its fuzziest, but I will be using the Overload switch when I want to use it with a filter. Is it worth the price tag? Only you can answer that for yourself. There are absolutely other more accessible octavers out there that'll do the job just fine. I actually plugged in my old OC-2 today and it sounded so good I did wonder for a second why I bought the Octabvre 3.33 😂

  23. I have 3 sets of used roundwound strings for sale. The first two sets are fender 45-105 roundwound strings that were removed from brand new fender precision and Jazz basses. These were removed by me as soon as I received the basses, and are virtually unused, still completely fresh and zingy. The third set are ernie ball long scale strings 45-105 removed from a gibson shortscale bass. These ones are well used. Asking £25 posted for all 3 sets. Cash or bank transfer. No Paypal.
