  2. I'm obviously missing something here. How does the scammer know that two members are messaging each other about a sale?
  3. Guyker also do some open frame tuners for around £30 per set, basically Ultralite copies on the cheap. Would be interesting to see how they work on a budget bass: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004645339944.html According to the comments they're 67g including the bushing.
  4. I can also sell these items individually.

  6. What's the Link output for, Steve?
  7. I bought this bass off @jrixn1 just over 2 years ago I believe, I've loved having it, but it just doesn't get the use it should, I prefer 5s so though a P5 would be nice to have, but turns out, I still prefer 4 strings precisions. I think this is the price I bought it for, and it hasn't really changed since then, but I'm open to sensible offers. Currently strung with LaBella flats, but I can put rounds on if you prefer. Body: chambered alder with flamed maple top and back Neck: 21-fret (plus zero fret) hard rock flamed maple with rosewood fingerboard, blocks, and vintage white binding Scale length: 34" Headstock: originally matching, it was subsequently refinished by JP Guitars, Bristol. Nut width: 45mm Tuners: Hipshot USA Ultralites Pickups: Delano PC 5 AL/M2 (neck) and JC 5 AL (bridge) Controls: Volume, volume, tone; push-pull on the tone for both pickups in series. Bridge: Gotoh 205B-5, 18m spacing Weight: 3.585kg, and perfectly balanced - a real pleasure to play. Some info from the previous owner that I would not have noticed or known about if it wasn't pointed out -> It also arrived with stripped neck screws; these have been replaced. Truss rod works correctly in both directions. N.B. Maruszczyk truss rods are clockwise to loosen and anti-clockwise to tighten (i.e. against convention). There are a couple of small marks on the body, one of which has been painted over (see photos). I'd prefer collection in Edinburgh, or delivery/meet up within a reasonable distance, but I can sort postage at buyers expense if necessary. Cash would be ideal, but, I really want a Genzler Kinetix so happy to trade. I'm also after a short scale, and a Fender Coronado. For some reason I can't upload any more photos, I'll try again later (and include a post it note with date, but if anyone wants photos before that, let me know and I'll send them over)
  8. Wow! That looks fantastic 👏

  10. Sorry to hear about your shoulder problems. It just seems that once they are damaged they never get back to how they were. I bought the bass new in 2018 and had the body chambered to help with the weight due to my back problems but since then I ruptured my shoulder in a fall and had to have a reverse shoulder replacement. It makes playing 34" scale basses very difficult and painful. However this bass is a beautiful instrument and deserves to be played. Succumb to temptation!
  11. About a year ago I did a active to passive conversion on my Sandberg California VS (P bass). I replaced the big pole peace delano style pickups with more aggressive sounding Lollar PB90s. As I already have a Fender P bass I decided a few months ago to put a set of LaBella low tension flats on this bass and keep rounds on the P bass. Absolutely love the sound, a lovely warm thump, not suitable for all genres of music but I sometimes play with a New Orleans type jazz band and its fits in like a glove, its almost 'upright bass' sounding. Funnily enough I prefer rounds on a fretless, despite the 'chews up the fretboard' mythology.

  13. Now see that's the kind of attention to detail I can get on board with and tickles me greatly.
  14. Bravo! 👏👏👏 Nice new bass too 👍
  15. Yup, that's exactly it. However, it is surprisingly easy to get the string routing wrong and end up with randomly turning tuners. 🙄
  16. I'm thinning the herd to focus on getting a few things I'm after. I like this bass, a lot, but since getting a USA Musicman Sub This just hasn't been out at all. There are some signs of wear, particularly at the headstock (see pictures), but it palys and sounds as it should. The original machine heads were rubbish so I put some Schallers on it. I'm ideally looking for pick up or delivery, I'm in Edinburgh, but happy to meet within reasonable distance. I have gig bags (lots of them) and I can fashion a box if needs be, but postage would need to be paid by the buyer. Still, I'd prefer you try it first... Cash is king, but, a short scale Fender looking thing, or a Coronado might persuade me. Just noticed the new proof of ownership thing, I'll get a pic with a post it note later today - I just took the photos yesterday, just because it wasn't raining in Edinburgh.
  17. Daft question (which has probably been answered in these 26 pages, I tried searching - honest!) - see the tuners are mounted facing each other (as in the E and G are mounted "upside down") - is that so that when the bass is strung up properly (with the strings following the path of least resistance and winding on the tuner on opposite sides), you still turn the tuners the way one would expect on each side of the headstock? Sorry, it's one of those questions where your gut is screaming the answer at your brain, and your brain is going "hold on, gut, I need to give this some more thought"...

  19. Slap an opaque one on there and away we go!
  20. They actually have some cool stuff in their store. Not too sure on it making here to the UK from China, though. May end up being more hassle than it's worth?
  21. I find myself drawn towards finding out what all the SGC Nanyo fuss is all about. In all my years of playing, I don't recall having the pleasure of having a shottie of one.
  22. None at all that I noticed. Just tried it on a strap again about 5 minutes ago and neither it, nor my Victor Bailey have a hint of neck dive. tried 3 different straps too. Hope that helps. They are beautiful instruments.
  23. Thanks, Just getting lucky I suppose...
  24. As far as I can recall the fan they fitted seemed intrusive to me, from day one, but, looking back there is a little haze...
