That's fair enough ☺️ I own two Warwick Broadneck basses with 47" radius and as I mentioned I tried a fully flat ACG. If I was blindfolded and was handed a 47" radius fretboard and then a fully flat one I would not be able to tell the difference,in fact forget the blindfold! After a certain radius size (I can't say which but for the sake of this conversation let's call it 16") you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference between that and a fully flat one. I definitely notice the difference between 9.5" and 12" but after that(to me) it becomes imperceptible. I totally favour flatter boards where I don't have to go searching "downhill" for the outer strings 😂So my Warwicks although technically not flat feel just like the ACGs in my experience.

Cheers, I don’t know that much about him really, really good discovering some new tunes

Ah @Reggaebass, some Marlon Asher from my neck of the woods 😜 and fitting for Dancehall Friday! This song is what launched him onto the scene back in the day, the whole country was vibin to this in fetes, radio, everywhere. Good memories...

Make sure your kids haven’t dropped/inserted a small plastic toy that came in a McDs Happy Meal through the F-Hole. Obvs not speaking from experience 🤔

Ive finally got round to cutting a proper bridge for my Shergold project ( https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/483271-shergold-electric-upright/ ) and excitedly mounted the pickups only to find that silence ensues I assumed that theyre piezos so was expecting a pretty low output but this is zero output. Perhaps Im mistaken about them being piezos and they require a polarising voltage. The jack socket has a 4700pF capacitor wired in parallel across the terminals (Im assuming its for hf rolloff). Ive removed it but theres still no output. Theyre approx 27mm long and are made of a blue plastic inner with brass/copper folded around. Theyre from the 20th century Does anyone have any idea what the mystery pickups may be?

I’ve been going through quite a bit of Marlon Asher lately, can’t say I like it all but he’s got some really good tracks, here’s a few I saved .

Ah the endless joys of the mystery rattle! As @NickD said, could be one of many things. My bass develops weird rattles all the time and rarely can I pinpoint where they come from. They always seem to resolve themselves. It does help to have someone else listen to the bass and see if they can find it whilst you’re playing, because guaranteed you’ll never get your ear next to wherever the problem is…

Not necessarily, it could be many things. I developed one when I played an A, but nothing else, and it turned out to be the endpin. Tuners are quite common too. I'd play it and do a top to bottom check to try and isolate where it's coming from. I found this useful, plus there's a video up by Jason Heath that covers some other things.

100W Stoneham valve amp - small footprint, lighter weight
Matt P replied to Merton's topic in Amps and Cabs
I know it's been a while since there was an update on this but i was in Martin's shop today dropping a Trace Head off for a service and asked about the 100w head. Martin has been moving to a new premises recently and is in the process of getting it properly set up, he said that once he was settled in then he'll be getting back on the 100W project as he wants to get it finished and into our sweaty paws. from the number of amps that i saw in for service today i'm guessing he has been fairly busy with the day to day repair work (on previous occasions i've had to wait a week or two before dropping amps off for service as there has been a backlog.)
